A: never use an app to update your drivers Especially programs such as driver easy or driver booster pro can totally mess up your rig with faulty drivers! B: Stop being lazy and start searching for the correct drivers provided by your hardware manufacturer's website. C: It is generally a bad idea to allow any app to run trough admin rights on any OS due to security reasons. An application should be executed with a minimal set of privileges it requires, any application that needs more than that can be considered shady. It's like asking why is it a bad idea to give the keys to your home to random people. Anyone following this guy's advice does not know how to operate his or her system properly. Learn it somewhere else not here :D

For me, some sounds play loudly and other softly. In ARK for example, everything plays loudly and my foots steps are like all over the place. While I'm looking up i barley hear them at all. And looking down I hear them perfectly. My other games have been sounding weird lately too. And all because I tried to replace my GPU with a better one. Now some of my games won't even play at all. They just crash my ENTIRE computer at the title screens. FML

i know you posted this 8 months ago but i think ARK has a realistic gaming surround sound mechanism where in reality if you were to look upwards you would not hear your footsteps as well and as loudly as to if you were looking downwards. Its like that for me too.

Windows 10, all sounds in my windows 7 games sound effects were muted after downloading from Steam, I downloaded the latest Realtek driver from dell and ran trouble shoot and the fix was Uncheck a box
