This is a great channel. Thank you! Been dealing with bi-lateral tennis elbow for over a year consistently. I have done everything to keep from having surgery, but unfortunately it is inevitable at this point. Tried shots, did OT/PT, I live in Tylenol, etc. loosing use in my right one, and unable to fully extend it. To be honest, this is the worst pain I have ever been in. Thank you for this video as it helped me understand it even more.

What worked to cure mine was a theraband, kind of a rubber bar that you twist. I also used a massage ball on the area for relief. It was just a rubber ball that you roll around. Going back to weight training kept it away.

Laborer here with chronic elbow pain; can't remember when they didn't hurt. Finally saw a physio this winter as the pain was unrelenting, even lifting a water bottle for a drink was a chore. With manual therapy we've broken the cycle of constant pain but it's always right there ready to flare up. Not sure how I'll proceed from here as I don't see it being "fixed" just temporarily managed during the slow season. Appreciate the info on various potential treatments though.

Thank you for this video, I wondered if that’s what I’ve been experiencing, and my symptoms are just what you described. I garden a lot, and spend a good amount of that time pulling weeds, I use my right hand to dig and my left to pull, and it’s my left arm where I’ve been feeling it. I’m active and exercise regularly, and the pain isn’t noticeable until I do certain things, like lifting with my palm down. I might try one of those braces this gardening season to see if that helps.

I've had it twice and strengthening it works. I believe the tear never heals so building new tissue over the tear is the way. Use a theraband flex bar. They come in different strengths. That'll also prevent it if you don't have it. How does it go? A gram of prevention is worth a Megaton of cure?

You're correct that the pain can be extreme. Most of the time I can't carry anything in my hand from the pain in my elbow. Conservative treatments have not worked for me so it's time to repair the site surgically. Would you recommend a Hand Surgeon or a General Orthopedic Surgeon ? Thanks for the video.

I occasionally run my massage gun over the tendons involved and these these seem to keep it reoccurring. When I feel like it might be coming back like I do today I get out my bands and massage gun and work on calming it down

I'm just under 59 & always had strong wrists & arms, was always very active, trail bike riding which i still do, climbing, bit of work around the farm & general outdoorsy stuff, love chopping wood for fun. But after a very lengthy time of problems after one time of covid I'm struggling with tennis elbow, a fracture like feeling in my ankle & wrist problems like sprained wrists. I find the elbow ok through the day but when i sleep i wake up in lots of pain & sometimes have to lift my arm with my other one before i can move it again. If i flex & hold the muscle tight for a while & flex & hold the bicep it controls the pain until i've been asleep again. Its a bloody painful thing!

Suffered from tennis elbow for 3 yrs. Only thing that relieved it was the elbow bands that had a soft gel type of ball. Ball was placed against the area. Went to ortho who gave an injection which didn't help at all so he wanted to operate. My daughter had just graduated w/ her DR in Physical Therapy. Anecdote backed by no medical training: I've had both, and they feel similar, only on different sides of the elbow. A couple of weeks with a wrist brace put my tennis elbow on the road to recovery. Golfer's elbow (aka climber's elbow) took a lot longer and for me wasn't as dramatically affected by wrist motion. Just gripping and pulling (e.g. pull-ups). Your mileage may vary.

I would like to mention about prevention of tennis elbow. Relaxation of body, unit turn, follow through of racket are the keys. Using the racket like a whip. Do not make sudden stop of your hand and racket. Tight body, lack of counter force, and high speed impact flex will cause injury. I got golf elbow once because I hit the ground with a club. LOL. I stay away Golf ever since.

That was 30 years ago and I proved my case and spent a total of 9 months off work in 5 and 4 months. It was not a joke, I had a cortisone shot and the dr hit a nerve. What’s that saying? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. You guys didn’t really explain how to prevent this in the first place. All these treatments are great, but if you’re thinking about them you’re already screwed. I’ve had this from weight lifting. I’ve found that straightening your wrist while lifting relives the pain and will allow it to heal in a couple weeks. Using proper technique while performing movements with your hands and arms is better advice. This is a clear over use injury.

@@bangsatriyachannel2531 Nothing. That’s my point. If you need treatment it’s already too late. I’ve dealt with tennis elbow in the past, and I’ve found that immediately adjusting your form or changing the movement or just taking a rest and stopping whatever it is that’s causing the pain helps tremendously. Hence an ounce of prevention. Don’t ignore the pain until it gets unbearable and you need treatment, do something about it the second you feel it and it will go away. Never ignore an over use injury, or better yet use better techniques so you don’t get one in the first place.

What are your thoughts on the ever increasing data regarding tennis elbow and the Covid vaccination? I’m a 52 yr old male with no history of elbow problems. Pain started in both forearms in Feb 23 with pain traveling into my elbows. Conservative treatments to include bands, injections, & medication were unsuccessful. An MRI revealed a torn tendon in my left dominant side elbow which was also the Covid injection arm. A surgery will be performed in 14 days to repair the injured area. My assumption is a right elbow MRI will be completed once the left arm is healed enough.
