Thanks @AR fishing! Lowes had this rod you described. Believe it or not my Minn Kota Maxxum did not have a hole drilled out for this drive pin. I recalled ordering a prop a few years ago, and I couldn't use it. Today, 7/25/2021, I drilled out a hole 1/8" 1 and 1/2" up from the end of the shaft. I drilled it centered and put the brass prop pin I made from your video and presto! It runs great. Don't ask me how my prop worked without a drive pin or the hole. It was just wedged in there. Thanks a million! Great video. Ready for Lake Mead tomorrow!

I went to Home Depot and bought similar pins. Had to hammer out the rusted old one. Very satisfying job. Great video now time to go fishing

How did the shaft not spin when you were taking the nut off?

Should be a slot in the middle for a flathead screwdriver to hold it.

Because the pin was not broken. I think he was just giving a demonstration. Usually if the pin is broken or sheared, the flathead screwdriver goes into the slot when taking the prop off in conjunction with the wrench.

See I can’t even get my prop nut off the first step it just spins idk what to do

I had the same issue. You need to insert a flathead into the bolt slot and twist the nut with pliers

So did mine. That means you broke the drive pin. Exactly like the other guy said use a flathead on the shaft and use a wrench for the nut
