My loo has been running with water for some time and I found your video and managed to sort my Delavit toilet. The seal did have 2 nodules on it which seem to be stopping it sealing. Thanks! Manage to fix my loo after taking out the water inlet part incase any seals had gone but was working fine. This part had became loose for some reason, but took it out anyway and gave the washer a rinse! Working perfectly now. Thanks again 👍

I really enjoy watching your vids. I've just taken a look at my toilet which was hissing intermittently. It has happened before. I pricked the bubbles with a needle about 12 months ago and it solved the problem. Just had another look and there were four bubbles on the opposite side. Pricked them too and made sure the seal was 'clean' - it has stopped hissing and leaking water. It now flushes cleanly again. Can you tell me is the Gerebit sealing 'washer' which stops the water leaking into the bowl a standard size? I will buy a couple to keep in for the next repairs. I'm a 63 yr old woman who likes to do as much home maintenance as possible. Thanks for your vids - i really appreciate them.

I dont know how to get that big white tube disconnected from the toilet, it doesnt come straight off like your video, but it looks the same. feeling under it, I think the washer feels smooth and rubbery but has fluffy stuff on the edges of it. does that mean it needs replacing? the water still hasnt stopped running and its keeping me up at night. also the tap for the water to the toilet is tight and I cant make it any tighter to shut the water off :( I think I may have to call a plumber

Not all of them do come off like that, sounds like yours is one of them, renewing the whole thing requires the cistern to come off the wall. So a plumber will be your best bet. Although I do have a video on how to do it, but it is not for the faint hearted.

My daughter is a student and has just moved into a rented house. After just two days, both toilets have had problems flushing and just before we left one of the toilets had water running constantly and when you push the dual buttons (on the side) there is no resistance. I looked inside the cistern and (unlike ours and most of the types I have found on KZbin) it appears have a small sealed citern with a dry larger cistern, making it difficult to access. As we had to leave to drive the 230 miles home, I had no time to try to fix it or buy parts (it was a Sunday evening). I have had to leave my daughter to contact the landlord's agent who, rather unfairly, replied that "it was working OK on Friday". The water pressure seems to be low and she had a plumber out on Sunday morning to check the shower (supposedly, but I suspect there have been other plumbing issues, and they have had three months to sort things). I have advised my daughter to shut off the supply to the toilet to save water, and she has managed to do that (they are on a meter). Anyway, I just wanted to ask if there is a name for the sealed unit within a dry cistern, and I also wondered if the problem might be with the push button flush as there is no resistance when you press it (though I suspect that is due to the water leaking and the cistern not refilling properly). Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The unit will be the syphon the washer inside it will be gone.No resistance on the push button could also be the plastic tube actuator has come off the inlet to the syphon or the button end.

Hmmm.....I think almost all flush issues are the water leaking. But mine is different, i have to keep pressing one of the push button until the tank is empty. Water flushes until I am pressing the button, and stops when I release.

Kketansa Art Remove the push button flush syphon and renew the rubber washer on the bottom then replace. If you are not sure, I have a video on how to do this.

The fun and games start when you've got an 'all in one' toilet and vanity unit - with a one piece shaped sink that runs across the top of both of them. So, when something fails in the consealed cistern you have to un-do the sink taps, run a blade round the sealed in sink/toilet top and only then can you get at the cistern. But even then, because the cistern is then inside a built in unit that the toilet is joined into (Via a shaped hole in the back board) you can't get at anything. "Yes they may look nice dear but its a PROPER pain in the backside!"

I've got two issues. The float is sticking to the wall of the cistern. I've had to wedge a piece of wood between the wall and pipe to lever the pipe to free the float from the wall. Absolutely hideous design. The second issue is the shut off doesn't work and push button sticks. You have to manually push the thing in the cistern back down. Any quick fix or do I need to replace the whole thing?
