100% correct. It was my grip and my swing plane. I was only hooking on my driver and not so much on my irons. Totally fixed my problems. Thanks again!

I only hook my driver on occasion as well. We are taught to hit up on the ball and stay behind and this nasty habit develops. Using this method is so crucial. I can see how it would help immensely.

This is by far one the best explanations of why I have been hitting a Duck Hook! After hitting balls three fairways over to the left in a blink of an eye, I am now putting the ball consistently 255 - 285 yards down the middle of the fairway. It took me a bucket to finally see it evolve! My swing plane even for my irons has improved to the next level, along with my grip. Thank you for your perfect tutorial on How To Fix Your Hook!

Thanks for the amazing tip. I’ve been hooking the ball for the past two weeks and on the verge of snapping all my clubs in half over my head. This drill and feel fixed it immediately. Thanks for the great vid!

I can't begin to tell you that as I became much better at the game, the hook with my driver started. I can go a full round without one and then another round I'll have 3 of them. Thinking of it as a slap shot is one of the number one ways to rectify the problem. We always get taught to swing from the inside and this is what happens.

This guy's a great teacher. Lets' hope he can keep teaching us, and what he's saying works and it's uncomplicated. Went to the range today and I was lined up w a forest all down my L side. (I'm L handed). When the trouble is on the left like that I have the tendency to snap hook it to stay away from it. I tried these ideas and was hitting beauty lil cuts into the "fairway". No snaps. Well... OK a couple but that was good cause it made me Focus on turning the trail side shoulder just as he advocates like a slap shot and sure as F it stopped. Then I tried hitting a draw using these same ideas. closed my stance a bit and swinging a lil more to the left. That worked too. Try everything. Why not.... right?

Good advice. I can't say it has cured my hook, but I played 9 holes today and had only one snap hook drive (might have let the grip get too strong or failed to swing through the ball). Some of my drives were a little low, and a couple drifted right, so all is not perfect, but what a relief it was to set up and not feel like I was going to hit a snapper. Thanks.
@bdyt5 жыл бұрын
Another cause of hooking is an inactive lower body and when arms come down and lower body is not out of the way the hands flip through impact closing the face and the ball hooks. Start from ground up, clear hips so you don't get stuck and have to flip through impact.

I am currently trying to fix a hook that has crept in with my driver. I initially tried to fix the hook by swinging in to out trying to push the ball outwards, which I realise now this was a bad idea. You give good tips thank you. I have almost cured the hook by trying to hook it. If that makes sense. Thanks again.

I’ve always had a hook swing and grip. So, it’s my tempo. Must be. Welp, that’s kinda hard to perfect on the spot. Instead of moving my right hand under, I move my right hand over top. It helps but I can never get it perfected. Sometimes my with my driver I even open the club face and put my hand over top. My swing is not bad either. I love being aggressive b/c I get distance! It annoying hooking it constantly. Sometimes low hook shots, too

Stronger grip requires more body rotation prior to impact..so it's not closed when you get to the ball. Won't start talking about one or two plane and additional variable to hooking the ball.. or not

I d say, weaken the Grip is the worst advise 85% of Amateur Golfer could get. If youd take the Club back down and adress the Ball actually like impact position, the Face would be Square. Hearing This From a top teacher ... dont get it
@Blue_Dun4 жыл бұрын
Maybe you need to listen to the video again. Not once does he say "weaken" the grip. It IS a slight weakening only relative to an overly strong grip with hands rotated too far right on the club for right handers. He's addressing people who have grips that are too strong, which causes the hands to turn over too much through the hitting area. He's demonstrating a grip closer to neutral to resolve that issue and is NOT advocating a weak grip in any way whatsoever

Fix the hook?!?!? I can’t hook the ball it’s proven to be impossible.
@yannikmuller2876 Жыл бұрын
Bring it back without any manipulation, continues to bring it back in a forward pointing arc. That nonsense. Everyone pls take a club, lay it on the floor face up, rotate it 180 parallel to the floor and then 180 orthogonal to the floor. The club is now facing downwards. Sorry but if you don't understand physics, than don't use it to teach people. Stick to your roots as they say.
