Thank you! It kept going when sprinklers on. They wanted to replace.

Hello! We installed a new bladder tank. Since the new install, when the water softeners regenerate at night once a week at 2 PM it triggers the low water pressure gauge to shut off. In the morning there is no water in the house as a result. We then go down and perform the 45-degree maneuver on the trigger handle and then the pressure builds up on the dial and we have water. We called the water softener technician but he claimed he does not see a problem. The installer of the new bladder tank gave us the run around stating that it's a well pump issue! It seems that the water softener regeneration is drawing too much water or taking too long causing this issue. This has been happening once a week. Can you advise us on how to fix this please?

Did you try adjusting the pressure switch like I mentioned in this video? That is the only way to really fix it, other than replacing your pressure switch with this: www.rainbrothers.com/store/Amtrol-Guardian-CP-Digital-Pump-Control-p353776975

I just flushed my pressure tank and tried to adjust my switch. The range is only 40-52. I the the small cut off spring is worn out. I assume its time for a new switch

Sounds like it, yes

So tell me if I've got this right. Low pressure cut off is at 12 PSI, whether or not you're using a 30/50 switch or a 40/60 switch? I would rather just buy another switch than to go fooling with adjustment screws. So if I replace my 30/50 with a 40/60 then my false cutoff problem should be over? And if the higher pressure is a problem then I could use a pressure adjuster down flow of the pressure switch?

You have all the details right, but a 40/60 switch may not solve the issue. It will certainly be less likely to flirt with the low pressure cut-off point, but you may still have to adjust the switch. Also, please keep in mind that the only difference between a 30/50 switch and a 40/60 switch is the tension on the spring - it is easy to do yourself with just a few turns of the wrench. That will save you from probably a 45 min job of replacing your switch (which requires draining out your pressure tank and unhooking all the wiring).

Lost power and the pump is in idle mode now. The problem is the lever that you use to hold or reset it~ or whatever. Is missing off of that grey box. Is there an alternative to gaining back my water again, without that lever on the box

Are you certain you have a low-pressure cut-off pressure switch? If you don’t have the lever, you likely just have a regular pressure switch. Check the breaker to the pump to make sure it didn’t trip. Try tapping the switch from outside the box. The only real way to diagnose the issue though is with a multimeter and measuring voltage inside the pressure switch. I have a detailed video on troubleshooting submersible pumps that will help tremendously if you check out our other videos and subscribe to our channel

20 is my cut in point on a 20_40 switch. No matter where it goes the points chatter

You’ll have to tighten the smaller nut only inside your pressure switch. This will increase the start/stop differential. You’ll also want to make sure the pressure switch is installed as close as possible to the pressure tank. If it still chatters, you may have a bad pressure tank, need a new pressure switch, or use a pulsation plug in the bottom of your pressure switch (as a last resort)

Do you have to adjust the air in your bladder tank after doing that?
@rainbrothers9 ай бұрын
It’s recommended, yes. Adjust with the pressure tank drained out. But, it helps to fine tune the switch first and see where the cut in pressure lands when you hit your sweet spot, THEN adjust the air pressure in the pressure tank to 2 PSI below that cut in pressure

I have a 40/60 switch. Ok to do this with mine?

Yep, sure is!

I have this exact pressure switch. It was working fine and now keeps jumping off even if i physically push the switch back on

You have to hold the silver-colored bar up at a 45 degree angle until the pump builds 12 PSI or more. You’ll feel the bar hold up on its own. If you can’t get it to hold, then you don’t have enough water in your well/cistern OR you need to re-prime your pump (if you have a jet pump). Could also be that your intake pipe is frozen and the pipe is not letting water thru. Hope this helps

My pump is falling off when it gets down to 40psi if I turn the breaker off and back on it will come back

I don’t quite understand what you mean. Can you elaborate?
