It mainly depends on your eating schedule as well. If you eat late at night, your body is accustomed to expect food so it stays awake. Don’t eat anything after 6pm for a couple of days and you’ll wake up without an alarm in the morning

Its 730pm and i woke up an hour ago lmao. I've tried these methods plenty of times haha, with the last two really being the only one that works for me. The issue I find is it's really hard for me to fix my schedule it takes like at least 3 days but then all it takes is one night of me staying up late and it's all ruined again.

For me it’s not that I have insomnia or anything, but it’s that I have so much in my mind. At nights since it’s the time where I’m totally by myself and can just think, I start thinking sooo much to the point where I can’t focus on sleeping. I can’t clear my mind and I’ve never been able to. I’m thinking about my future career, things I want to do in life, what I think I could be like in the future, etc. a lot of brainstorming goes down so my brain is keeping my body awake almost all night.

Here's a video by Dr. Mandell offering a solution to your sleep problem. My browser won't allow me to post a link but it's called "Putting Insomnia On Ice - Dr Alan Mandell, DC" . He talks about how to use ice cubes to calm down the mind for sleep. I know it sounds strange, but give it a try and see if it works. Another tip that others have given is to set aside time during the day to brainstorm and specifically think about those topics/subjects in order to get them out of your head so that you wont have to tackle them at bedtime. There are also natural supplements and nutrients to calm an overactive mind. Good luck.

It worked for me too but once it happened that in the meantime i did the reality check someone told me: "it's not a dream, why are you reality checking?" So i was half lucid... i got fooled by my own dream character :(

@@dylanmaxwell9993 yes it made me tired enough to go to bed early the next day then eventually i got to a half decent sleep schedule, but if this meathod doesnt work for you, melatonin supplements work realy well you can buy them pretty much at any pharmacy or in the supplement aile in walmart

I have the same issue. If you tried the sleep deprivation method, I’d say just try another. I think your body just thinks it’s not time to sleep, at least that’s what it was for me.

Lower room temperature, don’t eat 4 hours before bed, and buy a weighted blanket. All three of these are proven to keep you asleep.

i woke up at 10pm after a nap that was supposed to be 12pm to 2pm because i did the sleep deprived method and my stupid alarm didn't go off so now my sleep schedule is the exact opposite (going to sleep at 7am)

I personally go to bed early. Set early alarm. Barely sleep for a couple of nights. But get up. And eventually I will fall asleep on time. Not before 11 though. For some reason is not possible.

Ultimately helpful but very hard: turn off TV, computer, tablet, phone ect at 20:00. Soon you'll feel how tired you actually are and go to bed. After you'll have an anxiety spike and an overthinking session in a bed, you'll have nothing more to do, and will fell asleep early.

I absolutely love arriving at 5am wake up time but gettin there is awful. Like yeah the first time its kinda funny but afterward you realise its just exhausting and unhealthy.. Not only do you wake up in the middle of the night at 11pm.. no you are also sleep deprived because you deliberately stayed up later than your natural clock.

The method I have used is letting myself sleep at my usually time and waking up at the desired wake up time. Then I sleep a little earlier than what I want my desired sleep time to be so I can compensate for the sleep deprivation. I make sure I wake up from then on at my desired wake up time and if I am tired continue to sleep earlier than desired sleep time till waking up at my desired wake up time feels pretty normal. Has anyone else done something like this? I feel like it works but is admitting rough because you are attempting to wake up when your body doesn’t want to.

I find that just waking up super early for a few mornings will do the trick. You gotta set a lot of alarms and put your phone across the room if you really want it to work.

listen fellas, I've been struggling with the messed up sleep schedule for couple of years, the 3rd solution he said is what I always do and it works but you have to careful cause there is the big danger of over sleeping again after staying awake for a long time don't forget, don't touch the bed till you are dying out of sleep

You probably have to set an alarm for a regular sleep time and then go through the next day as well.. Maybe that would work..

Getting up extra early while going to bed late (but trying to gradually go to bed earlier) is what has helped adjust a new sleep schedule..(example: Going to bed at 2am but with the new goal wake time being 10am.. bad sleep schedule was previously 4am, wake 2pm..) it's a pain in the ass for about a week but then it gets easier..and it's healthier than pulling an all nighter. You will still feel like you did, though.. but it will work in about a week or so.

Method 5*** Sleep whenever the fuck you want but wake up at your desired time. For example, you can't fucking sleep and it's so late and you're starting to panic at the corner of the bed like a freaking animal, here's the tip. Schedule an alarm for example @ 6:00 am; then you're still awake for example 3 am but somehow you fell asleep at 4-5 am. BUT NO MATTER WHAT, WAKE UP @ 6:00 AM. Do this everyday. Your body will get tired at first and you will feel like shit. But trust me, you can do it.

I stayed up for 2 whole days, and then around 9 or 8 pm, I wasn’t tired it was so weird. I was morbidly exhausted all day but then when it came time to sleep I wasn’t tired. I’ve tried all of these any non of them worked for me :/

I fall asleep at 4am and sleep till 2 and I’m pulling an alllnighter and going to take a 30 minute to an hour jog or riding a bike that’s probably the best idea

I think the reason so many of us "fix" our schedules then slowly ruin them again by staying up later and later is because we don't run on a 24-hour body clock. I know for me I need 10 hours of sleep to feel okay and I have to stay up for 16-20 hours before I'm tired enough; that's a 30 hour day. In theory, we're supposed to sleep 8 hours and stay up for 16 but I need 10 hours. I will nap if I only get 8 and I have to stay up for a long time to feel tired so it just doesn't work even if I fix my schedule for a week it will just get ruined again.

@@eyesee3516 No. I should but I know I won't at least until after college. The longest I've consistently worked out is 2 weeks. It will probably help though

Attempting the half all nighter tonight. Ie stay up until midday tomorrow then go to bed, hopefully wake up around 2 or 3 am the next day and reset from there. One thing u didn't mention is using meal times to reset - fast until a "normal" breakfast time, this supposedly helps and international racing drivers use this to avoid jet lag.

The last one won't work. A sleep schedule isn't fixed because you sleep differently for one night

It will. When you do all nighter you will be extremely tired and next day it will be very easy to go to bed early and wake up earlier.

The only problem is that when ever I try to fall asleep I cant and since I pulled an all nighter I messed up and fell asleep like at 4 and then at 4 i fall asleep then take a nap for like 5 hrs

School is bout to start so I need to do this and if your like me and you have to get to school at like 7 or 8 all I do is pull a 2 nighter and then set a bedtime for my self and wake up at 6 with an alarm

Was awake 37 hours 2 days ago. Fell asleep for 6 hours after that. Got sleeping tablets. Trying to fix pattern without them first. And I got work in morning next Monday.

My sleep pattern is really bad at home but whenever I go camping I sleep like a baby and wake up at about half six. I don’t take my phone camping though so that probably plays a huge part in it

what about waking up/force to wake up at say 5 AM daily when you usually wake around 9 AM say regardless of when you went to bed. This way sleep pressure will build up in 4 5 days and eventually you will start to feel sleepy a bit early in the evening?? will my hypothesis work?
