How to Flash Stock Firmware for Galaxy S5 [All Variants] by Odin3

- This is a quick full guide about how to download and flash Samsung galaxy S5 official *.tar.md5 ROM by Odin3 to unbrick it and back to stock.
- It can be used to upgrade to Android 4.4.2, 4.4.4 or 5.0 and downgrade (limited) the galaxy S5 to any Android software version.

Notes :
~ Upgrading won't wipe your data, but back it up before starting incase something goes wrong while flashing.
~ Downgrading will wipe your data
~ Bootloop after flashing can be fixed by resetting your phone from recovery mode.
~ This won't restore your phone's KNOX WARRANTY VOID from 0x1 to 0x0

Many thanks for your video and helpful webpage, it helped me to figure out how to flash the stock firmware for a different network provider onto my S5 to sort out a missed call when wifi enabled problem and also meant the phone was rid of the previous network branding and bloatware. Thanks muchly!

can any one help with ....not registered on network error. i have changed Sim ,changed carrier,rebooted ,factory reset. ime ok tried all network modes,manually set carrier, brand new already rooted and unlocked,g900f 4.4.2 it just will not make a call or send txt unless i have full bars. wont work in places that my s2 used to ... it feels like Ive spent a fortune to downgrade. please ask if you need more info.

This didn't work for me first time, I had to find an old firmware version that better matched my device's manufactoring date. Fortunately Mr Wolf's guide (linked in the description) has links to two firmware sites, the later (Samsung-Updates) has a large repository of firmware that is free. I have Galaxy S5 at&t OC4 lollipop. I gave an app super user permissions and it screwed up the phone. Now when I restart it freezes on the galaxy s5 splash screen. I am still able to flash things in download mode but I need the 5.0 tar file. Any help? I don't want a $700 paperweight.

i have the sprint galaxy s5 which i recently updated to lollipop. i was attempting to root my phone when in the starting stages of odin soemthing went wrong and it failed. it literally showed "fail" in the top box. i was using the cf root. now it will not let me do anything on it. it will still let me boot in download mode but im not sure where to go from there. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a c-spire Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900R7) android version 4.4.2 build number K0T49H.G900R7WWU2ANF1 and Hardware version G900R7.02 and kernel version 3.4.0-1749789. We do not have c-spire service where we now live in Western Kentucky. I am trying to get my phone to work with StraightTalk... please advise, will flashing the ROM allow me to use straighttalk. c-spire seems to be using some proprietary software that does not allow me to see the apn info etc... like would able to be seen on a standard S5.

(Samsung galaxy s5) will it save my pictures n messeges on whatsapp etc. Also do I plug my phone in first before doing the stuff on the computer? I don't like what the lollypop update has done to whatsapp. Ppls pictures are circles which is really crap. If I downgrade the app using a app I installed called appdowner will it work and go bk to before where pics were square. Or is this only because of the whole software update? I have the version 2.11.505 on whatsapp. Whats the previous version?

Hi i had a comment on your website i am using galaxy s5 SM-G900L version which is android 4.4.2 build version NI1 and non-rooted(Knox 0X0). And i want to downgrade to samsung stock firmware android 4.4.2 NH2. Does this process trip Knox to 0X1? and warranty gone? Some people say even downgrading to lower version to stock firmware trips Knox to 0X1 and some people says it keeps it's warranty 0X1. I can not decide which one is right. Need Help! because i want to use towelroot which works well on stock firmware NH2 without tripping Knox. G900L is korean samsung stock rom does it trips knox to 0X1 even downgrading to the same G900L stock rom?

I am stuck. I got as far as clicking start, and it's not moving. Phone says Downloading, do not turn off target and Odin says SetupConnection.. Initialzation.. Get PIT for mapping.. Firmware update start.. NAND Write Start!! SingleDownload. aboot.mbn And that's it. I have SM-G900T and grabbed the last firmware from Samsung for 6.0.1 I just noticed there is a small little part in the download bar, but really hasn't moved. Not sure if that just popped up, but I see it now.

hey MrWolf, i tried to reboot my Samsung s5 (Korean) pliz let me know if this is one way of restoring. Right now all it reads is android and no access to the features of the phone. formerly an error message kept displaying that necessitated the restoration.
