I seriously think the way you just explained that helped me more than any other flipping and pitching video I've ever watched. Thanks

I have been pitching and flipping a long time. This was the best short-form how-to instructional video I have seen on the topic.

John I agree with everyone else you have some of the most in depth instructional videos out there. Once you retire on the water instructor may be you next calling. Thanks, just subscribed.

Hi John great video! What a good rod and bait cast real combo for this in the $100 range. It's a gift for my young grandson.

Thx John. I needed a few tips here. And im practicing 🎣🤙.I use all lefty reels,and i needed to rotate my wrist for more pitch motion. But ive cought a few doin this ,and its a excellent way to enter the water lightly. I have a steez A ,and a tatula pitch and flip reel, also the lews flip,skip reel is nice too. But nothing beats a educated 👍 for slowing down that spool.

I'm just starting out bass fishing and this video is very good. My question is how do you set the tension and braking when doing this technique?

Is there a reason why you choose fluorocarbon over braid? I grew up fishing Smith Mt Lake in Virginia, but I now live in Florida and most of the guys I fish with here says I need braid due to the heavy grass and pads? Your thoughts?
@MF-Rell Жыл бұрын
Braid. 40 to 60 lbs.

what reel is best for a dedicated pitch rod? I suck at pitching I tend to get backlashes
@JohnCrews2 жыл бұрын
Most any high speed reel will work. I use a Daiwa Tarik’s 100 in 8:1

At @2:14 you "said I'm going to flip it just like that" while you were showing pitching, then you go on to say flipping is when you grab the line. Very confusing to someone trying to learn from watching your video. Pretty poor way of teaching.
@robertbrandywine Жыл бұрын
I think flipping is the physical act of flipping, which you can do while pitching (or flipping) hence the confusion.
