How to fly the Mirage 2000c in War thunder Sim

As someone who has flown the DCS Mirage quite a lot, the flight model is a little generous at low speed in WarThunder. I’ve only test flown the WarThunder version so far, and even that is far more capable than the DCS one. At higher speeds it doesn’t seem that bad, but at low speeds? Lolno. In DCS the Mirage is actually quite hard to land because to maintain speeds under 200knts you have to nose up quite significantly which causes your wing to create monstrous amounts of drag and you have to use quite a lot of thrust to not just fall out of the air. I’d describe the WarThunder M2000 as “floaty”, it basically doesn’t stall. The Mirage IIIE actually feels more similar to the M2000 in DCS at lower speeds. The DCS one struggles to lock in rear aspect as well, to fire 530s it has to use high pulse frequency which is best for hot aspect targets, it does have low frequency modes where you can detect stuff, but you can’t engage it.

I love how you pointed out SIM pilots SA. SIM pilot have no situwational awareness. Some do, but most don't. Which could make SIM easier for players who know how it works. I've been able to land on a couple enemy aircraft as a test to see pilots SA. Overall good sim gameplay and narration.

today i got my first sim kill i was coming back from a failed napalm bombing on my su7 bmk, and im just rtb. but with corner of the eye i see a little plane flying almost my pattern. its a fully loaded f5c going for a bomb run. poor guy understood i was on his tail last second, but to his luck he probably gets the rwr activated and starts turning. now to notice, aiming with a controller is VERY hard, but i get lucky and shoot down the guy. absolutely proud

I think the main issue with climbing in sim, is the super small map you're on, Afganistan is one of the best maps in Airsim right now.

Dont use PD when u aim for the sky... you can switch it on the fly even if the target is locked. If he chaffs when Radar is in "normal" Tracking mode he can chaff as long as he wants - the 530F will get him, even if ur Radar locks on the chaff.

What control setup were you using for this match? Your view looks like it’s being controlled with a mouse but the flight control seems to precise for keyboard/mouse.

This jet gives me headache at low alt bro it is so generous from warthunder to go u such a trumendous power n energy mixed with turn rate I used to count on mig21s or f5s on low alt dog fight bt this jet killed them all cnt wait to get it and thank u for the video and bytw iv been killed by u several times last time i used a harrier and vtoled it and saw everything how this mirage can turn within seconds on low alt slow speed it is impossible even a harrier couldnt turn although i was vtoling it for the mirage2000 can surpass me and then id be behind his tail yet he turned and kicked my ass thank u for the video ill get to work for this beauty

@dukeofdream Meanwhile, I have learned a lot in Sim, and even got a 12-0 match today :) All you need to do is bind "SAS mode" and take off with the mode in dampening. There is no need to pull back hard to take off, the plane's nose will go up by itself. I recommend you keep dampening turned on unless you need to do some really wonky maneuvers while dogfighting.

I see that you are moving the head (camera) up and back to the center to look below the nose and towards the rear. How do you accomplish this? Are the in game keybinds?

@@nimbal3304 I have been fiddling it since yesterday. It seems the head movement controls do not work when TrackIR running in the background. If i start WT w/o TrackIR it works as intended, but no head tracking :( What is your head tracking software (Later edit: or are you using one)?

the mirage radar does not look like that it normaly looks like a cone with 4 bars and a 60 degree sweep and the square mode for the radar is black not high green WAR THUNDER DO BETTER (i come from DCS)
