Honey can we discuss what is and aint working in the Alabama heat??! The clemson spineless is struggling for me right now, it has just stalled... but the Alabama Red is taking off. I was really hoping the clemson would outdo the Alabama red but it doesnt appear to be the case. But, I planted Red ripper peas and knuckle hull peas and they are producing earlier than normal. I may end up with just peas and okra. 😂 please tell me what green bean you have the best luck with... btw.... i do my okra the same way, but once i cut it up and put it in the bag and give it a good shake , i put the whole bag in the freezer. In three or 4 days Ill slice up some more and then throw it in with the frozen okra and cornmeal mix, shake it and throw it bag in. No frozen clumps, and so far no freezer burn because less air is getting to the okra.

I completely understand! Everything is struggling right now in this heat! We tried Alabama red our second year, and it did fair, but not like the Clemson spineless for us. The best green beans we grow are Contender bush beans and Rattlesnake pole beans. Both are prolific. We planted Rattlesnake pole two weeks ago in this heat, and it’s all germinated and growing beautifully. I will add to my bags as well once I get more okra if it’s in smaller batches, good idea! 😊👍

Thank you!! I am growing okra for the very first time. You made this look so easy! We love fried okra and pickled okra. Do you ever pickle your okra?
@harmonhomestead74343 ай бұрын
Yes, occasionally I will pickle it as well. 😁 thank you so much! 😊
