This works great and I have some tips: TIP 1: use an old turkey baster to remove all of the fluid from the reservoir before you begin. TIP 2: once you get the clamp off the hose take your pair of pliers grab the hose and twist breaking it free from the reservoir, then it will just slide off. You don’t have to pry it like in the video. Just be careful not to squeeze too hard and break the plastic exit from the reservoir. TIP 3: some models have a second reservoir for the ‘Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control’ so you will need twice the fluid. Same process to flush.

If you're doing a PDCC flush/reservoir change, the new reservoir is delivered with plastic caps that work well enough.

Big Thanks to you I just bought a 2004 Porsche Cayenne it’s at rebuild Porsche to a slow going vehicle i don’t think you have these in USA but in Sweden you can buy and rebuild a car in to a slow going vehicle that you can drive when you’re 15 however I heard a noise from the steering and I looked it up and this video helped me get this fixed under a hour

Hi, Thank you so much for this video. Excellent, simple and informative. I just did the change today and my son helped me. I should have gotten the plugs, but it wasn't too messy. The plastic water bottle must be crushed in order to fit in there. I also used the tip of using DW-40 to remove the return hose which was very helpful. I didn't find CHF 202 in my region, so I got CHF 11S instead (I read and found they are very similar). At least much better than the stuff the previous owner had in there.

i'd still do the left -right steering with engine OFF in order to get fluid moving through the ends of the steering racks and all the valves

I see you and others use CHF11S or CHF202 (both synthetic) but on the reservoir it marks only mineral. What am I missing?

Shoulda just swapped the entire reservoir. On my 958.1 Turbo it calls for replacement every 60k miles as it has a filter inside

What is the ID of the return pressure line that you took off? I'm wondering what size plugs I need for both the hose and the fitting on the reservoir.

I need to do this for my Audi Q7. Is this how a dealer or indie mechanic would be doing the flush? Or do they have some kind of mechanical flushing equipment? Thanks!

Jonathan L no Supoosedly you have to change the reservoirs, as they have a filter inside it I did it that way in my cayenne turbo (with pdcc, so two reservoirs)

Do you think you got the old fluid out of the steering rack itself when you were doing the start/stop cycles, or was it just going through the pump back to reservoir?

Hi, my cayenne 955 steering is on the heavy side, almost like driving with flat tyres. What would your process for diagnostics be?
@CarFanatic
@CarFanatic 5 жыл бұрын
Start by check the power steering fluid level. If it is good, you could try bleeding air out of the system. If there is no air in the system and you still have difficulty, then you could have a bad power steering pump.

Really making your life hard. Just suck the old stuff out of the tank. Refill. Run the engine and turn the wheel a bit to mix the tank. Repeat 3 or 4 times. No mess.

@@chrisgandhi6463 it is, minus the spills and messing with hoses. I just suck out the tank and refill every 6 months or so, keeps it fresh.
