This annoys me 1) Network bandwidth is rated in (Mega)bits per second (8 bits == 1 byte) 2) Most games (including FPS) actually don't require much more total bandwidth than 56K dialup; Latency (ping) is the important factor here. People seem to forget how fast modern Internet actually is and how much wifi can really affect a gaming experience. 3) DNS is essentially a network query service. It is basically responsible for handling requests for IP addresses so that your computer knows which server to connect to when for example requesting a website like Google or Facebook. It can affect which server you connect to, but has absolutely no bearing on your bandwidth or latency in regards to that server. For 99% of cases this is best left untouched. Save your time and skip this video, watch something like LinusTechTips instead.

He’s saying that when you see Mbps(megabits per second) so say you have 64mbps download and 16mbps upload. You’re getting 8MBdown and 2MBps up megabytes vs bits is different. 1 Megabyte takes 8 megabits which is basic internet packages. So if you don’t see MBps but Mbps then it takes 8Mbps to equal 1 MBps. So if you have 100Mbps down and 16Mbps up the true speed is 12MB down and 2MB up. Now you understand kinda understand?? Google megabits and megabytes to understand. People get fooled by internet companies about super fast speeds for those who don’t know there is a difference between Mbps and MBps. MBps is the faster connection takes 1000MB to equal 1GB of data.

So far the only thing I would dispute here, is a very very minor technicality from Nobodyknows808. This is only because of the spread of information and is in no way important. But it actually takes 1024 MB to equal 1 GB. The difference is only 24, but that's why I said this is minor. This video is completely stupid and useless. If you want better internet speeds on your console, you don't need them. Fix your Nat type or something useful. I currently play Call of Duty WW2 with 2.0 "Mbps" download and 221.0 "kbps" (I stopped writing this comment and ran the test on my console itself). I experience almost NO lag EVER. In fact, I have friends that pay for 150 MBps download, and reach quite close to it on their consoles, that lag significantly more than I ever have. They are also getting booted from games, experiencing the famous "lag motion skip" that any Call of Duty player is no doubt familiar with. It all comes down to latency, Nat type, connection type and things you won't find in videos like this.

best thing to do. (use ethernet instead of wifi, unless your ps4 is upstairs and your router is downstairs) 1. Test your connection on your ps4 and then get your laptop. Connect both your laptop and ps4 to the internet via wifi. 2. Then get an ethernet cable to connect your laptop with the ps4. 3. on your laptop go into "network and sharing center" Then change "adapter settings" select these 2... "ethernet" and "whatever you wifi is" then right click and select bridge connection. Test your connection to see any difference. i already had these settings shown in the video but still encountered problems when playing pro clubs fifa 17. my download speed was 500kb/s and believe it or not it was 5 mb/s after.

If you want to actually make a difference in your WiFi, make sure your internet supports a 5 GHz connection and make sure your PS4 is also using the 5 GHz connection. Sometimes it will automatically pick 2.4 GHz which is terrible. This will drastically improve your down speed and maybe up speed (I'm aware up speed is more important)

OMG... People that don't know anything about computers should not make videos on how they work... A DNS server is simply a site that "contains a database of network names and addresses for other Internet hosts." - ie. you go to www.msn.com, and your computer checks the DNS entry to know that MSN is actually 23.101.196.141 - that's ALL a DNS server does. The reason you got a big improvement is because YOU SET IT FOR WIRED.

The best way to do this is to actually use a program on your PC called open DNS. it will find the closest fastest DNS servers near you and then input those DNS servers inside the router and leave the ps4 network settings alone! If you're already getting the most out of your network this won't help. these videos should be called tips and tricks not click bait titles like what it is now. I don't know why these tubers don't mention it's not going to work for everyone, another thing Mbps is mega bits NOT mega bytes per second there's a huge difference...100 megabits equals 12.5 megabytes per second. not even close to the same thing.
