Let me make something clear: you CAN USE an SDHC card; you just have to make sure it is formatted to FAT32. There are a lot of tutorials out there that say you need an SD card, and that an SDHC won't work. :p

Brrnz I used mine and it worked fine but you may have to delete things to get the amount of storage needed. If you wanted to delete things from the card but still save the files for future I recommend maybe putting them on a USB drive beforehand.

Although this video wasn't what taught me how to get custom tracks, (I can only use my Wii U cause my Wii broke) It gave me the motivation to find out how to do it on my Wii U and I now have custom tracks! It had been my dream to play custom tracks since they first came out, and now I can play them! I can't wait to play some online matches, even though I haven't really played the game in like 5 years, hopefully I can get better.

What's funny is the only thing stopping me was a legitimate MKWii disc, and when I was younger I couldn't convince them why they should buy something like it, when we already had USBLoader.

thank you so much bro. i just got ctgp and it’s insane how many tracks there are! i would totally recommend organizing the cups alphabetically. another thing is with the letterbomb, be patient as the wii message board doesn’t fully load in the two seconds in which you open. so be patient with that, i found mine at the day that i installed ctgp. another thing about the sd card, make sure you insert correctly. this killed a lot of my time as i didn’t do it correctly. have a great day, ctgp is totally worth it and instead of 32, you now have 250+ tracks to play with a new 200cc game mode.

Note that the initial INSTALL for CTGP you must have an original MKW Disc. Anytime you want to UPDATE CTGP you must have an original MKW disc. If you have a modded Wii (that plays burned games), it will work with CTGP as long as your NOT doing any of the two things above. Just wanted to throw that out there. I’ve tested this btw.

PairaGamers So, I use Wiiflow, which is a bit like Homebrew, and that has MKW on it. To install CTGP, I have to have a disc, right? So if I rent a MKW disc from a game store to install CTGP, will it work after I return the disc? I would prefer if I didn't have to pay $20 for a new disc 😂

Yes it will work after INSTALLING but you need a copy of MKW Game to be burned on a disc. Extract it from your hard drive as an .ISO and burn it. Now my Wii shows the burned copies in the Disc Channel so I don’t know if that makes a difference. Basically I put the burned copy in and my Wii sees it like an original without using any app loaders. If you get it working and return the original copy, you won’t be able to update CTGP until you get a genuine copy again. It’s easier just to get the original game but I was just mentioning that this works.

xFD58D0gxRbsIS51 The first time you enable the "Save to SD card?" setting in the CTGP Channel, it doesn't clone your NAND save file of the game (whereas on v1.02 or older, Riivolution used to do that), so it acts as a completely blank save. Thankfully, CTGP now unlocks all the characters and tracks from the start! Still, you can always turn that option OFF to keep your old saves (you may get error 60000 on Wiimmfi for licenses that have connected to Nintendo WFC before)

SOLUTION TO THE LETTERBOMB FREEZE PROBLEM: on the hackmii letterbomb installation, its automaticy set to 4.3E. Make sure its the correct one for your version!

When the system is displaying the error message "The SD Card is locked" or "The SD Card is write-protected." Complete these steps : Turn the power OFF on the Wii console. Remove the SD or SDHC Card from the Wii console, and look for a small switch. Ensure the switch is in the unlocked position. Re-insert the SD or SDHC Card. Power the console back ON and try again. If the error persists, try another SD or SDHC Card.

Lol I have a ds lite that has an SD card in it, I just can't find the right screw driver to get it out. XD EDIT: oh that was the battery slot... the ds lite doesn't have an SD card slot.. 12/28/19 EDIT: I got an SD card and CTPG worked!

Thank you! I tried to figure this out last weekend, from another channel, but I must have missed some steps. And I have no idea why I got an error message about connecting to internet. All settings looked correct. I setup another connection, with the same info, and it worked. When my granddaughter comes over in the morning she will say, "What the....?" She and I have been playing the last few weeks. More than any of us/them have for the last 10 yrs. I couldn't get them interested. It did take about almost an hour. Thanks again!

Install the homebrew channel and load ctgp from there, once you've done that it should install correctly.

I went through everything and thought I did everything right but when I went to the message board I couldn’t find letter bomb even though I followed through all the instructions and double checked everything ik I have 4.3u and the MAC address and the wii dates but I just can’t figure it out....

Make sure you guys have the folder that says private and not the folder that says “Wii” that you sometimes get when you cut the wired. That’s the folder where the letter bomb is in.

By the way for those having troubles getting their data back from the original version, you just have to disable the "save to your sd card" option in the ctgp channel's settings. Edit : If not, it's not much of a problem because you still have every characters and vehicles unlocked once you start a new license.

it happened to me the first time. Just remove the sd from the wii and put in again.

Click on the button that goes to the SD card screen(should be bottom left). If the screen says the card can’t be read, format the SD card to FAT32. You can format it on your computer.

Download the textures then move the files within the folder to the "My Stuff" folder which is located in the "ctgpr" folder

I had the same issue. idk if you still need help but you have to format the SD card correctly. the right one is FAT32. also something else that might be an issue is that the letterbomb you installed is not for your wii. make sure the location is correct.
