But you didn't shorten the driver side axle tube! When these come out of the ford they are a few inches longer on the driver side, so to install them centered on the 240 you need to take 2.75" out of the tube so that the left and right are the same length. When you're at the yard you need to grab an extra passenger side 8.8 axle, then you can shorten the tube and install the extra passenger side axle in the driver side tube. I guess you could run 2.75" wheel spacers on the passenger side! :D
@SeanHodgins
@SeanHodgins 3 жыл бұрын
@BBB Man haha, I guess you could do that, would be pretty silly to do all that work to center it instead of just fixing the long axle. Plus the 240 tunnel is already pretty tight in most cases, I don’t think you could get away with that big of a sideways angle.

Just a suggestion but you should replace the axle ends with 9in Ford ends to eliminate the c-clips which can potentially fall out and destroy your rear end. Especially since your gonna do launches. They are better and can hold more power than c-clip eliminators. But anyway awesome build man!

I fucking love this build! You should get some old skiis or something to put up on those roof rails just to add to the sleeper look. If you want more sick Volvo builds I can recommend: Drifts n' lifts is sick and the guy running it is a God at drifting Volvo's, I've never seen someone outside of Sweden drift a Volvo better than him. Peterbjork is a super cool Swedish guy that is currently building a Volvo 245 like gingiums but with a Lamborghini Gallardo V10 swap (no you didn't read it wrong).

If ebay is sponsoring this why did you not try and find a independent rear suspension from like a gt mustang or if they are to much maybe from an escalade and make it fit into the back of the volvo. That would make this build next level and it could have potential to handle a autocross as well as some crazy drifting. Also love your videos, the used parts you use resemble the condition of junkyard parts where I live. Crusty and rusty is a huge parts of buying junkyard bits here in eastern Canada.
@racer193wr
@racer193wr 3 жыл бұрын
@BBB Man everyone who swaps a 240 keeps a solid axel for ease of use... putting a whole subframe from say a mustang gt would make for great content and it would be somthing a little different from the norm. Im a volvo guy and have owned a bunch of them. And its always great when someone builds one but they all follow the same blueprint.
