I have been employed for MAC for 12 years straight through, and honestly I don't even know how I stumbled on videos about MAC, but this video is very accurate, non discriminating towards sexual preference or gender, and very informative!! This has really eased my mind about applying for MAC. I've loved the company since high school and I love the products and know tons about it. Everyone at my local counter pretty much knows me now. And I have almost 2 years retail experience, but no professional makeup experience. I'm going to practice on applying to other people more, and when I feel like I've got the hang of things, I'm gonna go in and go for it. Its a serious dream of mine.

I love this! I walked into MAC with my resume yesterday & to my surprise got an interview set up the same day. I was very honest about having little experience (only on myself & a few friends) so I have been a lil nervous in regards to what I should expect. I fully think my personality & how I dressed the part played a big role in the interest the manager took in me. Freelance MAC Artist are On Call artist. They are called in during events, holiday, busy times at the counter in general. They do not have a steady schedule, but it is a great way to get in with the company. Most people start as Freelance Artist because MAC tends to promote from within.

I love that you very were encouraging when you said that if we didn't have enough experience in make-up that MAC is more than wiling to teach us. ('Course you have to know what e/s is etc) I say this because I watched another video and they basically said if we had little knowledge it wasn't enough! And I think it's discouraging to younger girls 'cause I mean if your 16, 17 exiting high school people can't expect them 2 know it all, you start somewhere.. Your video was awesome! REALLY helpful!

I have stopped buying mac due to the fact that the last 2 people who I did speak with were not helpful did not know about the products and not friendly. I have a little Cosmetic Retail experience under my belt and Less cosmetic makeup experience(have been doing theatrical and prosthetic for a few years). Only thing I will say is...PERSONALITY PERSONALITY PERSONALITY. You can be a awesome sales person or a really great makeup artist...but if you are not able to get along with the rest of your coworkers at MAC or if you have a "know it all" attitude...you definitely wont get hired ;) I liked the vid!!

As far as the dressing in all black, do you have to wear pants or is it okay to wear a dress or skirt with tights?
