How to Get a Timed Reservation to enter Arches National Park in 2024. & when you don't need one

I was in this absolutely gorgeous National Park in 1992! And in 1997, 1999, 2005 and 2012 - boy was it easy and relaxed back then.

Thank you for the explanation of how to go about getting the timed entry ticket. Part of me thinks it's a shame it has come down to this in order to keep the crowds a bit more manageable. I do believe that if it helps thin the crowds overrunning Moab a bit than it is a good thing.

Thanks for this, been planning a visit in early May and wasn't aware. Funny enough the last 2 times I entered the park were after 4pm and before 7am so it wouldn't have mattered. Are the other NPs in canyon country implementing reservations now?

i’m always in the park for sunrise. there are no other entry reservations to CL or dead horse now. fyi- shafer trail is closed today

I may have missed it, but is your entry time the time you arrive at the gate or when you get to the back of the line to enter?

you didn’t miss it. They don’t provide info on that important Q. there’s a mention of 15 leeway. In general i’ve found the rangers understand the issue of you’re close i think they let it slide.
