I got my Blue Belt in 2002. About a year later I injured my shoulder pretty badly, in front of my future wife. After that I stopped training. I eventually separated from my wife and needed something for my self in my life. I always loved BJJ. So I got in touch with a friend that is a pro MMA fighter and is a 2 or 3 strip BJJ brown belt, that helps run a gym here in Houston. I started private lesions with him 3 days a week and started on May 22, 2020. His gym is literally an hour a way one direction, and I feel that their gym is the gym I have always been looking for. I was eventually invited to train in the morning classes. My skill and game has just exploded. It will be a full year of training next week. It took me about 18 years to make it back, but I did it. Now I am on my way to purple belt.

This was a great video. I felt the pain of travelling and some think/yhought online was BS. I personally think its a new day people can learn techniques process them then practice and test in person as they get comfortable. To me its just like lecture but better for some. You're a 1000 miles away but I feel more comfortable talking even if we come to a point of disagreement. I am travelling to Austin and recently thought its been to long to drop into KJJ but I'm rethinking that now. Keep the insight coming.

I have been training with the Kama Jiu Jitsu online program for 5 months now and it really helps me mentally and physically! It sucks to not be able to go back on the mat, and thanks to your program I can do 3-5 sessions per week and keep drilling and learning new technics. Thanks a lot for creating such a cool online program and for a very good price!

I'm definitely dealing with that. My school is open but my lungs aren't working this spring, so training full speed was not a good idea the couple times I tried it. So I'm going the training dummy route and setting up an area at home. At least I can work on my chokes and simple things.

A while ago I was so not confident and had the worst anxiety issues every time I started class. My anxiety was the biggest issue that kept me from advancing in Jiu Jitsu. But that was so long ago, and I’ve made a lot of self improvement. I hope to train in martial arts soon.

I started out doing judo when i was 5 (now 37). Where I was growing up there was no bjj other than on VHS or if you lived in London. When I was 18 a guy joind our judo club who was the same weight as me and he had self tought himself bjj from VHS. He tought me the guard, sweeps and somenother stuff as most of my judo was throw and osekomi. For years later I would find a club and train some bjj and then that club closed. Found another club traind and I had to move away for work. I have literally tried to find any teaching I can. Most of my bjj has been with my dummy (bob) use a book or a download or a dvd and I drill and drill and drill and DRILL. NO it's not as good as rolling but when your 37, married, full time ER Nurse (@40+hrs a week) 3 kids under 5 I would not be able to get to the club more than once a week irrespective of covid. Plus the cost of training. One of the nearest bjj schools to me wants £70 per month! Which is fine if A) you have that kind of disposable income B) You can attend all the sessions to make that amount spent viable (not worthit to train 1 hr a week). Judo I do uchi komi with bands, osoto gari on a tree... you need to make the process work!! Sorry about the long message but I truly feel you can do this onyour own with a good dummy, resource book or dvd if you truly want too... yeah years down the line I'm still a bjj white belt but who cares I'm still getting to drill bjj everyday even if it's 20min. That's 20 min more than nothing Best of luck and love to you all

I have a serious problem with making time to train. I'm up at 3:30am. Start work in construction at 6am. Off work at 2:30pm. Drive home over an hour. Class starts at 6pm. I shower, daily chores, walk the dog, & verious other chores. By the time I'm done with those it's 5pm and at least an hour drive back to the city were the academy is. I am having serious problem with showing up for training. I'm not sure how to go about to make time to get to the academy?

Here are some solutions you might consider… 1. Find a school closer to your home. An hour each way? That’s crazy. You’ll kill yourself. 2. Enroll in a good online curriculum and find a partner close to your home and train in your garage using folding mats. 3. If you really like the school you’re at, move closer to the school. Weird thing here… I’ve had multiple members move near the academy so they can train here.

Love the podcast. Love the advice. Quick thing, though: the apostles weren't Christians. They were all Jews. Christianity didn't begin until Saul of Tarsus ("St. Paul") began to preach about his "Christ Jesus" figure, which replaced the historical Yahshuah Ben Miriam, who was a Jewish Teacher instructing Jews in Synagogues and called "Rabbi" by them.

25Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch. -Acts 11

Show me a martial arts class that doesn't start with a regiment of body weight exercises and drills to warm up and I'll show you a useless martial arts class. You take these exercises with you everywhere you go, it's up to you if you use them. Uchikomi, ukemi, etc. Drillers are killers
