I also feel that most battery grips add a fair amount of body flex. Not great for in-studio video with close-up shots.

This is a PERFECT solution for the problem I'm having. I usually use the normal power bank to mini usb like you mentioned first..but I'm always on edge about it being damaged.

I love shooting with my grip. I have an older camera model, so I just picked it up used from a camera store (in practically new condition) for only ~$40! Just with two batteries, it lasts me all day. Not only that, I really don't mind the extra weight. I almost never use neck straps or anything that weighs me down because of the camera's weight, so weight isn't a problem. I shoot vertical most of my shots too, and it's awesome. The extra shutter button on the side is nice. If you have a smaller camera as well, the extra size it adds to the overall grip of the camera is much more comfortable. I have big hands and use a fairly small camera, so the extra grip is great.

Don't know, I get the Canon 25 dollar battery grip and I have had zero issues. Not throwing that clown setup on the flash mount but then again you have your people out there. I do like the corded setup just needs to be a longer cord so you have some (Allot) of flexibility. All in good fun but yes the inexpensive grips work just fine.

Great ... got one ... and as a Nikon D750 timelapse shooter it's now a paperweight. Works great for video but it error-message me during interval shooting after about 10 frames, regardless of shutter speed, interval ... so much for any very-long-hour projects. And I've tried everything ... regardless of power pack, it will not work.

I don't know but for me it gets more complicated,my set up on my camera is i bought a cheap L plate and a L shape micro USB and guess what the micro usb is not sticking out because of the L plate,then i just plug it to my 20,000mah power bank and problem solve 😁😁😁😁😁
