Dude Jason Bryant, I completely agree with u. The other guys who r calling u stupid and silly probably have never went to gym. They don't know how cruel trainers are. They never tell you the small tips for improvement, they never let you know secrets. They want you to get your result slowly and only if you pay them for personal training they produce fast results. So yes, that being said I agree with u dude. He is letting out a lot of information

Not every muscle or muscle group responds well to light weight training unfortunately, For example you wont ever be able to grow big quads or big lower chest without haavy weights , no matter how you do it unless you are on some sort of enhancing drugs
@rafidfayaz2007
@rafidfayaz2007 7 жыл бұрын
Alexander Kappanadze jeff could make a video on that. He would simply add isometric abd slow reps. Every muscle responds to that stuff even if done with light weights.
@kapa5483
@kapa5483 7 жыл бұрын
Sure, try to do "slow and isometric" reps on benchpress with light weight, you wont see any much progress, slow reps are best with heavy weight.
@VoiceOfThe
@VoiceOfThe 7 жыл бұрын
Alexander Kappanadze Very true. Ensuring you're lifting a weight that you can relatively comfortably do the exercise with, is what's important. There's no point going so heavy to the point which you can't use correct form, otherwise you're not working that specific muscle effectively. No ego lifting! You see so many people pressing huge weight with dumbells when doing chest bench work, but their actual pec muscles are barely being stimulated, because they're unknowingly pushing the weight up with their shoulders, especially the front deltoid, back and triceps. As soon as your shoulders leave the bench and move off it/forward to enable you to press the weight upwards, you're lifting a weight that's too heavy for you and you're not working the pec muscles. Drop the weight, forget your ego, stop looking at other people hoping they've just seen you lift such a massive weight and just concentrate on slowing things down, getting the squeeze in your chest, control the negative and engage that mind muscle connection and watch your chest develop! Make sure you're controlling the weight, rather than the weight controlling you!

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. I have just gone back to the gym routine after a 2 year departure that ended because of a shoulder injury. I made a decision to go back the gym and decided to give additional attention to my shoulders to avoid re-injury. It was very important for me to check my ego at the door so I could avoid using excessive weight and risk aggravating my shoulder again. Lateral and front raises have been where I'm most conservative with weight. Watching you work with those 15lb dumbbells made me feel better about using much less for myself. These exercises require such little weight to get good activation and in very specific muscles instead of some others that use many muscles and lend themselves to using momentum vs more static/short pauses. Learned something new wrt the pinky down, too.

Forearm Curls, grab a straight bar, I usually do 30lbs. Started lighter though. - Sit down, rest forearms on legs, palms up, then curl. Do it till you can't curl anymore. I usually do about 30. - Flip arms around (no rest) palms facing the floor and curl up, make sure you go all the way down then back up. You'll feel your forearms really tightening. I get about 12-20 with palms down. - Rest - Repeat 3X (always make sure to get the full extension).

I start with 5 lbs for a warm up, then 8 lbs, then 10 lbs. Then i work my way back down. I do 4-5 sets of 15 reps for each muscle group. It's all about the activation and time under tension that will build muscle quicker on the shoulders in my opinion. I've noticed a difference when loading my 17 ft aluminum canoe on top of my vehicle That's roughly 75 lbs...
@theworldisimmense

@spacepioneer4070
@spacepioneer4070 6 жыл бұрын
If i were to include 15lb into my workout i'd only be able to produce 5-7 sloppy reps. I'll have to build more muscle before i include 15lbs into my workout. The idea is to use lighter weight and to squeeze as much as possible during and at the top of your reps to activate the muscle your training, not just to lift the weight. I also have a slower tempo to increase the time under tension. All this will create an exhausting workout for myself. That's enough for me.

There's two different types of control in the two videos, the 14 day one you're benefiting more I think from resisting the weight on it's descent, the light weight you're benefiting from complete control over the directional movement, (he knocks on light weight lateral raises in the older video but he knocks on your typical, standard lat raise; not this new stop and go styled one). The new excersize's main benefit comes from the change in direction half way through the contraction

One thing you can observe from comparing Jeff's older videos with his newer ones is that his knowledge base continues to expand. Having a public forum through his KZbin channel has given him a wealth of feed-back, ideas, and criticism that he did not get from his previous experience. So, Jeff learns new methods, makes new videos about them, and we benefit from that by adopting his new methods into our own routines. :)
