Well that's good information and you hit the nail on the head when you said the facilities do not pay, I have been in the business for 15 years and I stay away from nursing homes I stay away from the hospitals and I stay away from these clinics trying to get their your money from them after you have performed the service for them is like trying to collect on a dead horse. These hospitals and Facilities could care less if you get your money or not and a 1/2 to keep performing your services for them for free that's why I got away from them quickly I only deal with brokers I get three checks a week like clockwork and it's a lot easier than trying to collect from these facilities

I would suggest using a factoring company so you get paid upfront and the insurance pays the factoring company. The best solution for that. 👍

Do these facilities not have their own vehicle(s)? A lot of our facilities have their own vehicles, so they are slow to call even though I have private pay customers in their facilities. Also, when you contract with a facility what exactly are they paying for? Here, they don't charge their residents for transportation in the facility vehicles. So that's why I think they are slow to pay me for something they offer for free.

There are some facilities that have their own transportation. However that does not mean there is not an opportunity for you to do business with them. Believe It or not the cost for them to have transportation added to their business insurance is costly, not only that maintaining employees can be a challenge. Facilities would much rather contract with a dependable transportation company. Also approach them about covering trips on holidays or If drivers should need time off. Think outside the box. There is so much I could say but I would recommend you schedule a call with us. I believe you could benefit from it.

This is for private pay but If a broker calls you about a trip and you do not have a contract with them you can bill for the the trip after it has been completed. Often times they will give you credit card information over the phone to process the payment.

If you have a private pay client and a family member is riding with them on the trip, do you charge the same fees per person or one charge no matter how many people are riding with the client? 2. If a facility has multiple patients for pick going the same destination, do you still charge your regular rate per person, or one charge if the they are all going the same direction?

Generally, NEMT companies allow one caretaker anything outside of that one caretaker you would charge an additional fee. If you are transporting for a facility and they are sending more than one client, you would charge your service rate for each client. If you want to offer a small discount because the clients are going to the same location you can. The decision is up to you as the business. Your Call Boss!

Most times depending on the agency his company will need to go through the vendorization process to get approval to bill. He will need to think about who he wants to do business with and research their requirements.

Yes because the contract obligates them to pay you whether it’s willingly or in court and depending on the stipulations of the contract it can guarantee you business.
