When it comes to high pressure situations, whether it be big games or asking out a crush, it's easy to get "caught up in the moment" and forget who you are. If you imagine we're like giant computers, we have a lot of software installed for those situations, but it's buggy and not very well coded.
This video is talking about how to reprogram yourself to react better when you don't have complete control of a situation, to remain calm and do what you need to do.
And just to explain the basketball clip ... that's from "Desensitize", link below, where I was 100% focused on what I had to say. I did the video in one take, didn't plan on spinning the ball on my finger or any other tricks, it's just what I do whenever you give me a basketball. It's second nature. It is my nature. I've done it a thousand times so it's no big deal, while others will struggle to spin the ball even when not talking. That's what I'm trying to get across with this "training" stuff, you gotta do it enough that it just becomes a part of you. Don't let mistakes discourage you. Just keep learning. Eventually things will just flow naturally and they won't seem like a big deal.
I have been making videos for the second channel (Why I Defy - / whyidefy ) but I'm still trying to work on that format. Once I get it right, more videos like this will be on there.
I do other help videos for the "How To Get Good" series, seen here:

Can we just appreciate Zy. He's the gamer who we offer riches, fine wine, and the ability to lead with an iron fist. And here he is, teaching us his ways so we can be our own Kings and Queens and overrule him one day. This man is giving us guides showing us how to manage ourselves in video games, reviewing mice, with short and to the point with easy to understand videos. Thank you Zy, for all you do. Good aim often get confused with good gamsense, Good game sense creates opportunities, i can relate with what zy is saying here, when my game goes bad i often think my aim sucks but what it really is is that i'm making dumb dicissions because I'm to tight/nervous and can't think clear what I should be doing.

I know no one will read this but I still want to write this. 8 months ago I decided to get my life together. I started fixing my grades from C's and D's to As and Bs, starting loosing weight and building muscle. I got myself a strict sleep schedule that I wasn't used to. I started eating healthy and watching my calories. And I started teaching myself how to talk to people, and all this is very new to me. No one taught me how to be better or how to talk to people. I had no friends 8 months ago, I have confidence 8 months ago and I had nothing. As I started to loose weight I gained more confidence and more friends, started texting this girl I like, and even made some good workout buddies. But ever since this whole quarantine thing started. I forgot why I was doing all this. I stopped working out, I stopped doing my homework, and I stopped talking to my new friends and I now I feel like I am back where I started. This video helped me remember why I started. I started because I don't want to be the quiet kid anymore, I started because I know that I am capable of great things in my future and I want to one day see what those things are. I started because I loved myself and I wanted to better myself for me. I started because I don't want to have the dark thoughts I had before, I want to spread happiness and motivation. I want to be me. Thank you, for helping me remember why I started.

Rocket Jump Ninja does not care about specific aspects of games when making his How To Get Good series. Instead, he cares about the thing that single-handedly makes you good at a game - your mindset. Once you perfect your mindset you'll improve from there. RJN is wise when it comes to tips in general. He has already realized that game skills will come with time spent in said game. Grinding and practicing a game will never help you perfect your mindset. That's why the title "Focus on you" fits every video in this series. Thanks Zy for the content you have been putting out for the past 4-5 years (I think) now. You're a man of honor :)

I used to have a crush on a friend, we talked on the phone a few times a month and saw each other every month or 2, she would be sad if we didn't talk on the phone and told me things like for me to phone her anytime I am thinking of her, put makeup on when we would meet up, got told by someone not to reveal my feelings for her because she was going through a lot in life, so I didn't but was going to later on...she got a boyfriend and fell in love the moment they saw eachother, almost got married a month into their relationship. Now she never wants to stay in touch since that guy came into her life over a year ago. Don't be like me, tell the girl you like her or you will regret it forever.

Great advice, i spent a long time trying to "fix" my behaviour by watching gurus etc on social media, listening to endless podcasts and trying to "improve" my quality of life through either getting financial freedom or changing my way of thinking- but this process was crippling. At least for me Long story short, i ended up focusing so much on what other people believed and how they reacted and what they liked etc that i completely forgot who I was and it put me in a really bad state for the better part of 2 years, with really bad anxiety/depression and i didnt know why it was happening I respect the message you're trying to deliver by avoiding media, news etc. I would go a step further to say you should do what you feel like doing and plan your life yourself, not through listening to someone else just because they have a lot of views/attention etc but rather someone you respect and can relate to in some regard. The thoughts you have shared have provoked me to think like myself again and for that i am grateful for this. I will now continue to scrub my brain from unnecessary bs and plan life stemming from my own thoughts and goals. I love your quake content (i played a lot of ql back in the day) and loved every second of it despite being kinda trash :D Thanks for the message you delivered i might rewatch this video a couple times to get the message straight in my head

For note taking like mentioned at 4:49 , there's a portable program called CherryTree. It lets you take notes in collapsable trees. So you can get that, sync that up on dropbox or something, so you never lose your notes. Every week, seven entries in one tree. Collapse that tree, then write the summary on top. So by the end of the year, you'll have your 52 summaries, expand those for your 365. Compartmentalizing them like that both makes it look less daunting, but also makes it easier to look back if you want more detail.

So making a diary is a good option? Well, writing down, what you are in a way is writing a diary. Never thought of it like that. Like a way of writing down who you are, so you never forget who you are or what you do, what you did. Cos in our minds we only see either the good or the bad things about us (depending, how we think of ourselves), but by writing down these situations, that we've dealt with or just writing down what we do or have, we start to see a different view of us, which also impacts our actions. When we thought we were bad an hopeless people, we write down all the good we do and we start to feel better. Idk, if I said it right, but I hope somehow me and everyone else reading this got the idea.
