Good show as usual. For anyone on the fence all I can say is continue checking out all of the mods tried and trued by DK Customs, they don't just sell products, they design, test and run the products on their own rides, they are the original test mules. Always remember their is no free lunch when doing mods, the key IMO is keeping heat and oil temps down for more power and a longer running engine. The EPA sucks

Great info !! Question.... when doing a Stage 1 or 2 mod are you dumping the plastic intake manifold for a stock size aluminum aftermarket? Thanks.

Oversize manifolds (many folks think bigger is always better) do NOT make more power. On an engine that does not have increased compression & a big bore kit, the engine will not run as strong with an oversized manifold or throttle body. It is better to stick with OEM size. I would love to run a stage 1 setup with an aftermarket tuner... warranty is a concern. Living in Commiefornia, finding someone to sell you an aftermarket tuner is almost impossible. Secondly, finding someone who knows how to retune your engine is a crapshoot. I have chosen to stay stock and ride my bike without abusing it. My oil temps are well below 230*. So far, I am happy. With that said, you guys are spot on. Thanks :-)

@@DKCustomProducts I run your oil filter relocation kit and external head breather system... I have also added the HD oil cooler fan. can my engine run better? of course. I have the stock Jim Palmer extended warranty plan. I could have purchased his aftermarket parts plan but chose not to due to overall cost of warranty plan, stage 1 parts and labor. well over $4000 in total. I ride my bike with respect and maintain it as recommended. fingers crossed. my next purchase is a better set of rear shocks. HD shocks are some of the worst in the industry. and yet their bikes are the most expensive. go figure! keep up the good work. you guys are honest. thank you : - )

When I went with a “stage 2” my bike ran noticeably cooler. I did lose 4-5 mpg, but worth the gains. Big bore changed everything.

@@DKCustomProducts FM ACDC cleaner, 475c cam, S&S pushrods/lifters/Tappet cuffs, Cobra header/slip ons with Monster Baffle, tuned with TTS in my garage. Before the EITMS would come on regularly at red lights. It’s only happened after riding 80+ on the interstate for a long period. It not only runs cooler, the felt heat radiating is almost nonexistent compared to previously. Removing that cat and a good tune made a world of difference.

That is great that you got it cooled down. You are losing some of your MPG from the reversion that you are getting in your exhaust, some TTI's will help it run even cooler, AND it will have more low and mid range power and better MPG. I have a 2017 Road Glide M8 107 I run V&H 2 into 1 high flow and the S&S 475C cam kit with the tank lift kit and relocator oil filter kit as well and conservatively Dyno'ed I get 111hp 220Tq and get around 252 miles to the tank at 55mph to 65mph. Is their anything I can do to improve on my bike

That is really good mpg that you are getting. i have a 2019 tri-glide will it run better with out the catalytic converter

It will radiate less heat off the right side. If you ride in warm weather with a passenger, they will probably like it removed for that reason. You will not notice any difference in power, nor is it better or worse for engine longevity for it to be removed. KP

I liked the run a mile comment with a mask on. Problem is I could not run a mile down hill. That's why I ride the bike. However I do appreciate the information and I have done it to get the bike to run more efficiently.

Hey guys, great video as always. I have a 2020 Heritage 114 with Harley EPA compliant mufflers. It has the open air cleaner from the factory. The only mod I’ve done is your external breather system. My question is do you think the SE’s are to restrictive? I just don’t want loud anymore. If you think the SE’s are too restrictive can you recommend muffler that aren’t loud?

Thank you for the good words, glad you are finding the videos useful/interesting. All SE Exhaust in the last 10+ years are very restrictive. A really good performing exhaust, that is NOT loud is the disc style SuperTrapp exhaust. it is quiet, but not restrictive. My 2017 RGU i did a stage 1 and 2 and lost some mpg but more power way less heat as long as i keep my hand out of the throttle, mainly at 55mph to 60mph. I still get 255miles to a tank

I have gone with an Arlen Ness Big sucker air box that has allowed me to use my OEM cover with it and still get all the air flow at the same time. So, it looks like I have done everything that I can. Hey guys. I have a 2022 freewheeler. HD says it should get about 40 mpg. At 75 I get 29-31. At 55 mpg I get 33-34. What's up with this? Thx

MPG depend greatly on riding conditions...hills, wind, ambient temp, weight on the FW. It also depends on fuel, the right wrist, what RPM is being used for shift point. The MPG you are getting are fairly typical. Another big variable is speed. MPG really starts dropping above 55 MPH, and a bigger drop over 70 MPH. If you are riding very non-aggressively, and sticking between 45-55 mph, minimal hills, minimal headwind, and ambient temps below 80 F, you may see 40 mpg on a stock Freewheeler. Even Kevin's and Chucks Trikes that are set up for best power and mpg will Not get 40 mpg at 70 mph and higher.
