hotspots in my market mean absolutely nothing. my favorite spot I call the honey hole, in the last 3 years has never ever turned into a hot spot. it has a small grocery store and 3 resturants, and 2 fast food places and I stay busy and the offers 'usually' pay well, its an unassuming spot cause its such a small spot within the suburb. everyone else flocks to the main town where there is literally 50+ stores and resturants meanwhile me and like 2 other dashers are the only competition for our spot. this spot also keeps you busy no matter the time of day also. love it. except monday, its dead,

Yeah, about the repeat deliveries and being a familiar face...ummm NO...that does not work because WE the dashers can not be REQUESTED by a specific customer

I've noticed when I deliver to a house, I often get that address a lot. As if I got good stars, an unexpected tip from them, so DD sends me. I work on & off. I'm in Australia so people don't tip here much. They just started tipping more the last year here.

I do better from 5-9 am than during the lunch rush. I honestly believe that since Friday is PayDay orders increase. We only have one Total Wine in my area and just yesterday I did 4 deliveries there. Two were merchant deliveries.

How about Door Dash does something about all these illegal immigrants who dont know a lick of English using other People's/stolen Ids. I swear, if I hear one more "sorry no English" get another one of what could have been MY catering order I am going to....well, I wont do anything but I F-ing hate it. Also, the stores hate it that they are just jamming their phones in their faces.

I picked up from this one restaurant two days in a row and they said that their DoorDash machine is down so I had to order for the customer and wait for their order to be prepared. You would think that they would’ve tipped me more for doing that, but they didn’t.

Be honest.. you probably make more money on your videos than you do doing delivery... Why don't you do a video on just the expenses involved with dashing or spark delivery... NOBODY tells the truth. OOOOOh I made $25 an hour delivering... HOW MUCH OF THAT WENT TO GAS...

I spend roughly $50 per week for fuel with earnings over $700 per week, working about 25 to 30 hours.
@hardboiledfrogКүн бұрын
Gas for me is under 5% to 10% of whatever I earn. I have a regular Toyota that gets 35mpg average while delivering. On slower nights, its higher because I take lower $/mi orders or else I won't have any orders. But its rarely up to 10% I also have rewards with all the gas station chains to get 5 to 10 cents off per gallon, and whenever I see the cheapest gas I pull over and quickly top off. I run up to 10k miles in a month, so these two things really add up.
@GoxDASHxJay12 сағат бұрын
I’ve turned $5 of gas into $55 . Gas is nothing if oil know what you’re doing

If I knew I was going to be getting nothing but food deliveries all day long. I would do pay by the hour. I did two orders today from raising Cane's. Had I done pay by the offer. I would have got 10 bucks. Pay by the hour I made 19. I did another two orders the other day, after the delivery I earned $40. Pay by the offer would have been significantly less. Sometimes there are some zero tippers sometimes it works out well sometimes it does not but it's not hurting your acceptance rate. The only reason why I want pay by the offer is for shopping grocery and alcohol orders. I see a food offer pay by the offer. That price is for picking up the food and delivering the order. Nobody pays extra for waiting. I give it about 5 minutes tops and I walk out. Pay by the hour I'm going to earn my money. Waiting is extra

I live in Northern Kentucky and I have been intentionally only accepting 5-10 deliveries/day because I can’t afford to go out for more than a few hours. It has been hopping because so many people have been snowed/iced in.

I had alcohol deliveries turned off for nearly a year, but turned it on a couple weeks ago since deliveries are few and far between this month. Who would have thought I would get a LOT of alcohol deliveries (3 just today) and - at least in my area - they tip far better.

I’ve noticed in my zone I must maintain platinum status to keep a steady flow of orders coming in. I’ve dropped off platinum status a couple of times due to car accidents in my car being in the shop are out of commission for a while and I don’t get orders I struggle to get a steady stream of orders but once I restore my platinum access, I get orders pretty regularly. Yes, I still get the garbage two dollar orders which I normally turn down.

Your market may vary. Fast food equals smaller tips, local restaurants equal moderate tips, new locations fade, national AD blitz equal more orders, special TV events equal more orders, lunch rush hours equal more $2 orders, breakfast slow but can be profitable on weekends, dead hours between lunch and breakfast or late evening mean higher tips until closing hours. Luck not really, with DoorDash you make what you work. Shorter trips, accept higher per mile minimums $2 - $5, longer trips never less than $1 per mile if going into other DD zones or $2 mile if you need to drive back empty. It’s all about what you’re willing to accept. Interstate roads vs two lane roads with potholes, wealthy areas vs congested in-city areas.

I have to say i think u guys are right as far as the goong to the same spot and being s familiar face doesnt make sense...on the surface. I think maybe its in the algorithm to give somenody who frequents a particular zone to give more orders then if u were in a new area . Why? Because i fogure they think thr more familiar u are with the area the more likely u are to get the order felivered on time . I dont think they will admit this but i. The only way they can by "beong a familiar face" so yes it doesnt matter on the surface but underneath it all it does. If i try new hotspots they dont isually act like hotspots till i make it more frequent. Just my humble opinion

Mike You talked about scheduling, but recently in the Seattle area they made it where you have to have 300 dashes to schedule. I’ve done 111 dashes my first ten days. I’m going for a bonus that needs 290 dashes and now I can no longer schedule. No busy areas to dash in around me. I’ve called door dash twice and they don’t seem to care just they will escalate the problem. Seems suspicious can you help.
