A small amount of perimeter lead tape increases the moment of inertia significantly. The effect is crudely proportionate to the square of the distance from tape to the axis of rotation, explaining why tape at the throat has a minimal effect. I think the greatest value is to increase the size of the sweet spot.

I always hit back line drives with a sideways swipe driving it very close to the net, and it rarely goes out the back line, I'd be curious to know if it's a bad technique long-term(easily exploited by better players) or if it's fine. Most often the hit causes the ball to fly off the opponents paddle sideways out of bounds. It's much easier for me to disguise this drive to look like I'm dropping since it doesn't require a wind-up and is more of a quick wrist action. But only from the back, I always topspin at the kitchen

can you go over how holding a paddle also affects power? Like having a finger on paddle reduces the power because you are holding the racket close to the base as oppose to further out.

Whilst the content is ok - it's too elaborate. Too long, too many repeat references.

it’s really not, this is all fundamental stuff necessary to improve unless you’re fine staying as a novice forever. if the content was “ok” he wouldn’t get as many views the way he does.
