Thanks! From Akasaka you have to go to Tokyo station anyway. From Akasaka to Tokyo is a little bit tricky. First you take Chiyoda line to National Diet Bldg then transfer to Marunouchi Line to Tokyo Sta. It' s like 10min ride!

No, it does not work that way. If you are going to Kyoto, You have to buy a ticket to Kyoto. When you go back to Tokyo, You have to buy a ticket to Tokyo.

From the video above, looks like you could also scan your QR code from the shinkensen vending machine. I didn't try it so i don't know, but worth a try.

@TN-bs4fv It was! There was a stall in the stations for QR code users it was annoying that usually there was only 1 stall so if you go during busy times, there would be a line but wait no longer then 30secs at best

"No reservation" means "unreserved seat", right? If you have an unreserved seat, you can get on the next train even if you are late.
