After you get the swirl, if it isnt ditto or isnt 5 star you can search for people to fight it, then immediately change your system date one day forward and then leave the search and the den will reset and you can collect watts as well, so while your tediously searching for the ditto you can farm watts to replace the wishing stars

There are two nurseries in the game, the first you find near Route 5 and the other ist under the Bridge in the Wild Area. A small trick is to breed on Route 5 so that you can collect the feathers on the bridge, for the ones who dont know, they are the Vitamons like Protein and Kalzium. This way you dont need to farm for it. The second thing which I wanted to talk about is, is the Oval Pin which you can get after beating the game and going to the hotel Iona or whatever it‘s by the Ice/Electric Gym.

also worth noting! breeding a pokemon that holds a power item (available from the same BP salesman that has destiny knot) guarantees the passing down of the appropriate IV. I.e: breeding while a pokemon holds the power anklet will pass down the speed stat of the holder. This cannot be combined with destiny knot for perfect IVs though.

6:30 if you didn't get perfect ivs, the rarity digger can dig up bottle caps, but they're extremely rare. If you manage to get three and have the isle of armor, pick up a honey and 500 watts, go to Clyde's machine. Bottle cap, honey, bottle cap, bottle cap. You'll get a gold bottle cap. These are used in the battle tower for hyper training, which will bring stats that aren't best, to best (they will say hyper trained). Good luck, trainers

Also, you can use link Code 4448 to trade Dittos. Just get a Ditto with any range of IV's and trade it with someone else. I've had experience that most of the foreign ones have 5 IV's.

Look for nature before you look for perfect IVs is a good tip. If you dont do nature first you'll have to get really lucky to get a 6IV pokemon with a good nature. 9/10 times itll have a perfect nature and 5/6 perfect stats. If you do nature first theyll always have the same nature so you only gotta find the child with perfect IVs. I simply breed 1 box of pokemon to find the nature I want and then I constantly switch parents with everstones til I find one with 6IVs

ive found that it helps, after catching ditto, to go around the wild area and battle all the dens to reset all of them. you’ll know that its reset because after the last den battle suddenly a bunch of new ones will be lit up. then return to the ditto den and throw a wishing piece. this has worked without fail for me within the first 5 attempts.

breeding isnt even needed in this game. Catch a good iv pokemon from a den or with a yellow shine, change its nature, change it's ability, reset ev's send it to school.

That's an option, but it takes about 20x longer. If you send your Pokemon to the schools for a full 24 hours they only get 96 EVs. It'll take several days to fully train one.

Do the wishing stone exploit. When going to a ditto, click the invite all, go home before you start it, change the date, go back to the game and quit. Not only do u get 2000 more watts but you get to reset the ditto. Meaning you can reset and reset for 5 stars

You have a better than 1/32 of getting a 5 IV ditto. You have 2 rolls of 1/32 since there are 2 randomized imperfect IVs. Breeding with 6 IV parents you have a 1/32 of getting a 6 IV egg since 5 will be guaranteed leaving only 1 roll of 0-31 (1/32 perfect IV chance)

Also as a side note, keep an eye out for pokemon with "glowing/gold auras" in the wild area, they have at least 3 perfect IVs and will know an egg move. Not massively useful but there's no reason not to catch em and box 'em. Never know when they'll come in handy for a breeding chain. Here’s a tip for all that I heard elsewhere. If you have 3 friends to raid dittos with, if one of you get a 5 star ditto raid you can turn auto save off, save beforehand, do the raid and then restart the game and the 5 star ditto raid will still be there because it didn’t save but the other 3 still have the Pokémon and then you can always trade between each other. I’m pretty sure I was told this works.

'IV' is ' Internal Value' - meaning the value the pokemon inherently has, where the 'external value' or EV is the effort the pokemon puts in. I know that Nintendo now uses Effort Value for EV, but I think IV is still internal value.

I was really hoping game freak wouldn't make the process another tooth puller, seeing them add nature mints and removing the cap on vitamins, but the parts that are completely rng dependant are still in full force and only because of the community figuring out you have to brake the game with soft resetting (something they dont want you to do in the first place or they wouldnt add the savebefore) is definitely another let down on game freaks part. It just burns you out

By using a wishing piece on another den you reset the first one... so if you have more wishing pieces you can just activate another one and start over with the ditto one... so no battling.. and wishing pieces become later quite "common"..

just an fyi that with the isle of armor dlc you can get a free destiny knot on ditto island (small island to the right of the starting beach where you find a lot of overworld dittos)
