We want more videos from you like about the Systems skills , how you can learn the manager system skills like rota for staffs, making icons for the menu , budgeting with every video with different topics because your skills are like a person easily grabbed .

We want to make more of these videos, but we need our own restaurant for this. If we launched a kickstarter. Would you pledge to help us make better content in the future?

I have been working as a bartender/server in Michelin Stars restaurants in Washington DC and NYC, one big mistake I always see from managers is they are nicer (in every aspect) with the employees who are more friendly with them like "Boss nice haircut, would you want to prepare a cup of coffee for you.. this type of person is in the most cases the less talent. Manager should measure all employee by the job they have done.

Yes but what if you are skilled and a pleasure to be around? That promotion wont be to far away

Honestly, unless you're the owner the highest earners in a restaurant are the waiters and bartenders. If you prefer stability, salary, benefits then management is a good option, but you won't make more than a talented waiter.
@waitertheresmore7 ай бұрын
This is true but I would argue that you will inevitably become older and perhaps create a family and then the waiter and barman job won't be so appealing even if the money is good. You may want to start your own restaurant but you if don't know how to manage people then you'd just be a waiter / bartender with all the responsibility of an owner but with none of the skills.

@@waitertheresmore True, but most bartenders end up being shift supervisors when the GM isn't present, you gain the management skills anyways. I would also argue that understanding food cost and kitchen labor efficiency is the most important skill to have when owning a restaurant and no one in the front of house really gains those skills anyways. Having said that... Hiring a talented kitchen manager could offset the lack of skills in this department. Depends what you want out of life, I've seen waiters make well over 100k/year, invest the money in real estate and leave the industry.

You’re right! There are many ways to move up but we can only advise others from our own experience and in the end they have to make the choice of taking the advice or not.

Please don’t become a restaurant assistant manager. It’s rarely if ever a promotion from serving.
@waitertheresmore7 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s a scam. It’s the promise of a promotion if you ”show us you can handle it”
