Can someone please answer this for me. I went out solo and had an appetizer and a cocktail. My waitress (really pretty, too) didn’t charge me for my cocktail, and only charged me for the appetizer. I didn’t notice because it was a rooftop bar and the wind was blowing so I didn’t hear her when she said the total. I just handed her my card and clicked the 20% tip on the iPad she gave me. I didn’t realize until I had already left that she didn’t charge me for my cocktail. Did she do this in hopes I would tip her more? It was my first time there, maybe she wanted me to come back? Was she interested in me you think? We were about the same age, mid to late twenties. It’s been eating me up inside that she may have been expecting a larger tip for not charging me for the cocktail and I ended up only giving her the 20% based on my appetizer, which ended up being like $3. Now I feel like an A-hole. But maybe that’s not the only reason? She could have simply made a mistake..? I just feel bad. And if there’s a chance she did so out of interest, I also feel like I missed a chance to ask for her number or something. Jeez.. been overthinking this a lot. I just feel bad now. I don’t like being seen as a bad tipper, it’s just never happened to me before. I’m inclined to think it was a mistake, I’m really not sure. Curious what your thoughts might be

Hey Otto! Thanks for sharing your experience! I forget to charge guests from time to time. It’s busy and we have a lot of orders in our head and someone asks for the bill. But with that said you now have a great opportunity to show what kind of man you are. I know that whatever the total on the bill you would have tipped 20% which is a great tip! She missed to charge you and since you’re an honest man you go back and have a few drinks and ask her to add the missing drink on your new tab. Also ask her out on a date after paying the bill while you’re at it. Im certain that she’ll go out with you! Keep me posted🍸
