I married a Nicaraguan woman in 2004. She became a U.S. citizen in 2008. We moved to Nicaragua in 2021. I applied for residency after one year of living here. My wife and I had to legally be married in Nicaragua for 2 years to apply for permanent residency! 2022 and 2023 I had a temporary residency of one year for both years. Now, I have been approved for the permanent residency. I will have to go to immigration every 6 months and pay a fee for the next 5 years.

Great residency video. What is the fastest way to get citizenship in Nicaragua?
@TheWanderingInvestor

Thank you. Investment, and then 4 years later you can apply. But they want to see a lot of substance, and the approval can take 1-2 years.

What about Citizenship for like foreign nationals looking for a 2nd Citizenship? I have heard that it takes approximately 2-3 years with lawyers help?
@TheWanderingInvestor
@TheWanderingInvestor 8 ай бұрын
You need to actually live there for 4 years on the investor visa and then apply and that still takes time. The 2 year option you hear only is very specific and fake news the way it is being mentioned.

Interesting, so what about the 2 year run for citizenship? Does it still apply with the 30K investment process? What kinds of government projects can one apply? Do they offer you that or do you have to create your own business?

This 2 year path to citizenship in Nicaragua is very specific. It's more of a citizenship by exception. Mostly fake news online about it.

So, if someone invests like $30,000 or more is it eligible to become a Resident? Can we invest in Real Estate and Rent it out and keep the savings in the local Bank 🏦 and pay Taxes?

We need to do investment to teak. But Nicaragua still grant Permanent residence, right? (It is really important to me.) And also, does Nicaraguan hate 1st world country citizens? I am South Korean so I am worried that because of they are close with North Korea.
@TheWanderingInvestor

Yes. It’s permanent residency but you must nevertheless renew your card every 6 months. You won’t have any issues as a South Korean.

How much I need to stay for citizenship after I get Nicaragua residency by investment? Someone say two years and the other say four year.

@@maruma2013 4 years. The 2 year thing is misinformation online and just for people that do something “exceptional for Nicaraguan culture.” Speak to the Teak people. They can explain everything about the residency process.

The requirement to renew one's residency card is a major drawback. The govt started this rule during Covid. They sent people out to check on the welfare of foreigners resident in the country and were shocked to discover that a large portion of them were not at the addresses listed on their residency cards. So they instituted this draconian rule. The talk at the time was that it was a kneejerk overreaction and would be cancelled after a while. But three years have now passed and the rule is still in place.

So I follow your channel regularly.... I think you should know the people you have representing you have been horrible! Your guy from Mexico, Sergei, refuses to answer emails (very rude and unprofessional)..... Your people from Panama, grossly charged much more than what was presented in your video..... This is your brand - do you have anyone who represents your brand with professionalism besides yourself and the guy in Montenegro?

Sergei: Your emails probably landed in spam. Send me an email and I can follow up. Panama: I never mentioned precise pricing in my Panama videos. Immigration to Panama is not “cheap”.

@@TheWanderingInvestor So, my apologies regarding my comment about Panama and pricing. You did mention pricing; however, it was not nexus to the product you were advertising. With Sergei, if he received my first email and responded, why would my second email go to spam? No one said immigration is cheap - in fact, I have mentioned this is one of the least expensive options (I think) available. Looking over the email correspondence with your Panama team, I was given multiple pricing points. I guess it's not your responsibility whether these people respond to emails. If business is really going that well, it's not relevant to check all avenues of incoming correspondence...

@@TheWanderingInvestor Actually, the price for the immigrations process to through a lawyer is set by the government. The fee structure is not expensive although many lawyers can charge more although they should not and there are lawyers who are competent who do not. I know this for a fact, as I have gone through the process successfully in Panama.
