Hey... fellow Iowan here. (Cedar Rapids)... I bought this product on your recommendation. I've been fighting wild violets in my front yard for years. I've spent hours and hours digging them out by hand. I've tried lots of stuff, nothing has ever worked. I also have a creeping charlie infestation in my backyard. Yesterday I got the TZone in the mail and sprayed the weeds and today they are already starting to wilt. Fingers crossed that this is the answer to my prayers. Those little purple flowers are very pretty... but I can't help but hate them with a passion. That is a stubborn plant.

@@daimyo2k hey. I used it and it works! I've spot treated my whole yard twice now (waited a month between treatments) and while there's still a few left it has mostly eradicated my violets and creeping Charlie. It also kills dandelions and other various weeds. Not very effective on clover but it does knock it back a bit.

Here's a tip for consistent spraying: I have a huge square yard, so I put down PVC pipes to create "rows" so I could color inside the lines without missing any spots and/or overlapping and giving any areas a double-dose. You don't need a lot PVC (or 2x4s or whatever you have handy). Just enough to create two lines. Then you leap-frog one "line" over the other one to create new row. I made the rows wide enough that I could walk in the middle and spray back and forth up to the lines. Note: First time I made the rows using a couple of garden hoses, but it's hard to draw straight lines with something flexible unless you have someone on the other end pulling it taut each time. Use something more rigid. I had a bunch of PVC on hand, so I went with that.
@soundofsilence212 жыл бұрын
Dude, just add a bit of blue dye to your mix -- then you can clearly see where you've sprayed.

That sounds a bit extreme.. You can just do your best and walk in a straight line. I can't imagine doing something like you suggest on a big yard, and it's pointless on a small one. Maybe it's a good way to practice

Forgot a very important warning, T-Zone contains Triclopyr which is also used to kill certain species of trees, shrubs, and other wooded plants. While it is a much lower rate than products designed to outright kill undesirable wooded plants you could case indirect damage by spray drift or spraying shallow tree/shrub roots. Thanks for the content and especially this product video because it is that Triclopyr ingredient that is the key to controlling some of these hard to kill weeds.

I put this down back at the beginning of September and saw the same results in a few days. This is coming from my neighbor's yard, as they don't really do any sort of maintenance other than mowing. What I did see is the grass in the spray area also turned brown after about a week. I kept to the lower number of 1.2 oz., but may have sprayed too long in one spot. As this was pretty thick in some areas, I wonder if the grass underneath was already damaged, or if the root system of the weed was tied into the roots of the grass? Any thoughts on this? Did you see any browning or damage to the surrounding healthy lawn? I also suspect that I have Poa Annua in the same areas or nearby, wondering if this also attacked that stuff and the browning was that weed dying. Thanks for the great tips! Either way, I got rid of this terrible weed and am on my way to a healthy back yard!

Good video. Thanks. I don't have a sprayer like that. Can I put this in one of those garden hose sprayers?
@ryanknorrlawncare4 жыл бұрын
Hose end is not accurate enough to do this correctly. You will need something you can trust sprays consistently or damage could be done to the grass you want to keep

I have some from last year. Does the same bottle have a decent shelf life in your experience?

Creeping Charlie was an issue on our property and thank you for the info. Our neighbours are quarter of a million dollar homes and they let all go to weed, while THEY were, "at CAMP." Hanging plants rotted on front porches and yag at every corner of their newly acquired properties.

I have over an acre of lawn. Can I spot treat the effective areas? Also would food coloring in the mixture help to identify where I have sprayed?
@ryanknorrlawncare3 жыл бұрын
Spot treating is fine. They make dye that you can mix in but I haven't tested food coloring.

Will it kill other weeds also? And will it work in the Winter when my burmuda is dormant (Southern USA)?

I believe I have Creeping Charlie that has overtaken my existing Creeping Jenny groundcover. Any idea if your method would kill both? I'm to the point where I may just plant a lot of Vinca. Thanks.
