I went to HS in Florida back in the 2000’s, played varsity freshman through senior year as a half back. Ran a 4.38 40 lost all scholarships when I broke my elbow and hand during homecoming. It is what it is. This info is…. Sorta true. I don’t know if my HS was just abnormally strong but I warmed up with 225 and was benching about 405, could squat 485 for 6 reps and I think I remember cleaning 380 senior year and knocking out my two front teeth trying to jerk it because I didn’t get my head out of the way. 😂 but we never. Ever. Ever. Did single leg squats. Maybe it’s because the equipment didn’t exist back then? I’m not sure. Several of my classmates and seniors went on to play at UF, UCF, the U, some division 2 schools. And a smaller percentage went pro and I know of one that went on to play professional rugby in Europe. They’re not measurements used by the NCAA or the NFL. At least to my knowledge. So, focusing on slow eccentric and explosive movements upward and tempo reps were what we all used. Bench and Squat were the most valued lifts and the 40 for sure. If you’re playing a skill position and not running track during the off season, you should be if football is your main focus. Otherwise any secondary sport is fine. This channel has lots of good information for any young athlete trying to get to the next level. I think the most important thing is to be realistic with yourself. I wish someone would have told me when I was young the mountain I was trying to climb. There are 133 D1 schools which means millions of high schoolers are competing for around at least 11,305 positions. I believe the upper limit is around 14k positions… of those select few in college. Only 335 are invited to the combine and only 259 will be drafted. Even Rudy didn’t make it to the NFL. At some point in our lives we’re all told we can’t play the game anymore. Some earlier than others, you need to take a hard look at yourself and where you’re at. You can walk on to a NCAA team you’ve still got time but it’s not a cake walk, if it’s your dream and you’re working harder than everyone else, keep driving. If all you do is say you’re going to play in the NCAA and the NFL and you’re going home and playing video games every night instead of the gym or the track, you’re just wasting your own time.

@graybarbecue4912 Жыл бұрын
Hey Dane, I have a basic gym at my house (pull up bar, bench, various dumbbells, and a treadmill). I am going into high school next year and I’m going to do football. I’ve been trying to convince her to let me go to the gym with some friends to stay motivated, but she says we should see how football goes first. What should I do to convince her? Note: I think she’s acting like this about it since she doesn’t want me to hurt myself or goof around with my friends instead of working out.
@phountain5097 Жыл бұрын
depends on the school you go to but most weight rooms will include the things at your house plus a bit more. if you really want to be good at fb you do need to workout outside of football to get bigger. obviously is all depends on your schedule and such but you just need to convince her that it is necessary to keep yourself in shape and in doing so means going to the gym outside of football. note: going with friends to the gym is way better than going alone.

Day 2 of asking for Morning Workout for Hypertrophy
@chrisdiaz4876 Жыл бұрын
High Rep Bodyweight Pushups x 100 (Use paralletes for more depth) High Rep Bodyweight Squats × 100-300 High Rep Dumbell Curls 8-12 × 3-5 Bodyweight Pullups x 25-50 reps Some Calf raises or other shit while you rest between sets and excersises
@officiallolbg Жыл бұрын
Thank you, but why high reps? +Don't have a Pull-Up Bar :(
@chrisdiaz4876 Жыл бұрын
@@officiallolbg High-Reps are generally what builds the most muscle & size ( look up Sacroplasmic Hypertrophy) ... From a maximal Muscular Growth perspective, during the morning what ideally you are trying to do is basically drop your myostatin level. Your myostatin level is what inhibits acutal muscle growth, after every workout your myostatin levels drop for around 8 hours. So thus training in the morning, followed by training that same muscle group(s) in the afternoon or early evening means you'll begin to experience Hypertrophy without acutally training - thus leading to more muscle growth... You don't necessarily have to do high-rep activities but I find they build the most muscle more efficiently, and I use them as a way to better effectively train cardiovascular training & muscle endurance since I plan on training in Combat Sports soon. 100's of reps is something that I've become accustomed too...
@chrisdiaz4876 Жыл бұрын
Also if you don't have a pullup bar, I recommend using Dumbell or Barbell rows to stimulate your back more efficiently . Or wrap a towel around a pillar and do Bodyweight Rows from there... (Perhaps find any kind of elevated surface to train pullups from?)
