Thanks for showing this feature. I wondered why it was not there these days. When I hop back to Debian/Ubuntu OS's I will install it. I'm currently playing around with Fodora 41 Budgie, which I quite like.

The quick search is there but not installed automatically with Synaptic. You have to install it yourself but it's easy to do.

Synaptic has always been a GUI graphical package manager. The quick search is an extra function that is an add on of Synaptic. That indexes the search quicker than the regular search. So you can find things quickly. It's a very handy feature to have.

Yes you can do that and sometimes I do. The quick search finds the results by the exact words and does seem to be quicker than the normal search.
