Today I was reading the book, "The One Thing" by Gary Keller. It's all about getting things done. Reading this reminded me about one of my habits that massively boosts my productivity. Stop making lists. Lists create cognitive loading. Your brain is like an attic - it has only so much room before it gets filled. Lists use up too much space and limit deep thinking.
Hey, if you haven't checked this out yet, you need to learn about the 67 steps to finding health, wealth, love, and happiness.

Look, I read Keller's book "The One Thing" but I got more from you talking here than the book! Your talk has struck me and has stuck with me. I was raised and trained in jobs to make lists and plug in scheduled events in calendars... While I've done a lot, I NOW know for a FACT, that lists have overwhelmed me and caused 99.9% of the procrastination in my personal life! I'm a different man now than I was 23:46 minutes ago! THAT VIDEO WAS AWESOME!!!

Your suppose to make a list. This is only for things than can you do immediately like replying to an email. However tasks that must be done in a particular order or can not be done immediately should be listed. List should be for the day by the way. If you have lists for the month - that is stupid lol. Also write your goals everyday!

Hey Tai, you might wanna hear this: Gelassenheit in German means the state of being relaxed or at ease, more in the sense of serenity. You mean the noun for being humble, which is actually Bescheidenheit. You seem like the kinda guy who cares about details so I just thought I'd let you know, as a German. Thanks for the talk, it helped a lot and you made some convincing points, as always. Which is why I wrote this comment right now, not later. Cheers, Niklas

***** Yes, I just found out about this yesterday, when a friend told me she had visited the Amish and that she was able to talk to them in our own German accent the German Palatinate Language. The Pennsylvania Dutch the Amish speak is almost the same, since the original immigrants came from the area where we live today.

Every video I watch I always feel as if you are talking directly to me. All these things I have been doing my entire life are being brought to life and I'm seeing how to change this. The cognitive loading really speaks to me, circumstances have lead me to see a therapist and this is the one thing that I always want to bring up is how I make so many lists but feel too overwhelmed to get things done. This is really clearing it up and I am so grateful I decided to continue watching your ad before my seemingly important KZbin video I was watching. Your talks are going to change my life. Even if it's only in the smallest ways right now it starts with these little actions. Thank you so much for putting up these videos is what I'm trying to say lol.

I thought you'd like to know that this video literally brought me to tears. It was totally unexpected and I'm immensely grateful for it. I'm likely one of the most "stickable" people alive. My todo list is unwieldy and spread across multiple productivity apps and systems. It's gotten so bad that, occasionally, I abandon one and start on another when the list that I have starts to feel insurmountable and I end up spending DAYS recording, categorizing, and prioritizing all of the things that I need to do. I have no short-term memory, I have an abysmal attention span, and I routinely suffer from "analysis paralysis". (I was only recently, in my adult life, diagnosed with the "inattentive" type of ADHD. Medication helps to enable cognitive processes required for being an effective human being, but it obviously doesn't give any answers; it's only one small piece of the puzzle.) So, when I say that it felt like you were reaching out to me from the past through this video and speaking directly to me, I hope you believe it. I'm still reeling from the profound impact your words have had on me. All of the literature I've read and psychotherapy I've had with regard to being more effective, at the moment, feels worthless in comparison to what you've woken up in my mind. This current feeling--this mindset--is something that I hope does stick. You can be sure I'll continue to watch, listen to, and read your words to help me remember what it is that I have to do to live the life that I want to live--finally! Thank you!

Tai Lopez kinda reminds me of Brendon Burchard who had read more than 1,000 books throughout his lifetime. Obviously, he knows something most so-called "motivational gurus" don't. Wisdom, knowledge, simulation and imagination certainly ranks at the top with this new-age "maverick thinker". Definitely in the same league as great thinkers such as Voltaire, Einstein, Gandhi and Da Vinci. After all, great minds think alike don't they? ;)

All of my school work gets done very last minute. Like ill admit it's became an issue. For example this one time i had a paper due the next day started it at 10 at night and finished 5 in the mourning. It was about 7 pages in total of pure writing. For things I don't want to do it usually takes me so much effort in trying to do it. I'm going to knock off few of the things required for me to do over my break now and start applying this hopefully to be habit.

Great video. It's amazing to me how we should know things our instincts have been telling us for years but we've been ignoring for years.

+Stephen Sunday I think we ignore our "instincts" by looking for help on "how to get shit done", "How to learn faster", "How to be more focused", "10 books that lead yo to success", "5 ways to be more confindent", you get the point. Man I'm sick of that. It is an addiction, the worst of all mental addictions.

Going to write a thank you note to a mom of a friend of mines. They took me in when I had nowhere to stay. I was living out of my truck no bed, no shower, no food. She bakes and cooks everyday nonstop. And thank you ***** for giving grate advice.

ok the question of the 1,000,000,000 is Tai Lopez do you really talk about how you went from $47 box in his bank account and sleeping on the couch to get a Lamborghini and Ferrari and a mansion in this and that. because I have $25 in my bank account and leaving the room of the size of a limousine a small limousine plus I have a 4 year old daughter that I have to take & pick up from school I have 8 hour job that helps with rent and bills i can even save $$$ to patent or even pay a ingenier for a few projects that i have going on. no support from anyone or anything lonely just me and my daughter. What do suggest Tai ? i want to be successful the same way once you were. Just like any body in this room watching you video. i ready to go to next level but is hard. Guys comment you can or want any POSITIVE WORD CAN HELP any ideas or suggestions .

Let me first say that you are becoming my mentor i aspire to be like you and pass my knowledge just as you do. My problem is that I have these list that you describe and they build up so fast that i get stressed and just decide to put these off even longer and eventually never complete my task. I will take the 5 day challenge and i will become a success thanks to you and your great insightful views and tips! Thank you so much and i hope one day to actually sit down with you and share the incredible things that you have inspired me to do.

I have been listening to a few of your videos recently Tai but this one has hit me hardest. Definitely guilty of too many lists and too many important things deferred ad infinitum. Writing this comment almost got deferred to a list!☺️ I think you got the tone right here. Getting into action, can be a kick up the backside moment. Cheers, now off to make the most of the evening here in London.
