This is nice and all, but you guys need to use 2.2's not 2.8's. 2.8's are a pain to glue with the horizontal bead and there are nowhere near as many options with 2.8's as there are for 2.2's.

@@JaxsonM22 I'm talking about wheel diameter. The standard wheel diameter for a 1/10th scale stadium truck is 2.2 inches, which the 1st gen Rustlers came with (1994-2005). However, in 2006 when the 2nd gen Rustlers came out, Traxxas (for whatever reason) chose to use 2.8 inch wheels with low profile tires which, in my opinion, was a big mistake, especially for an off-road vehicle.

@@nighthawkj30A4 Yes, you can. I just checked AMain Hobbies, and they do have the 2.2" satin chrome wheels for the 1st gen Rustlers. The part numbers are: 3672 and 3673. Traxxas also sells them in plain white as well which you can dye with any color you want.

My brother’s Pro Line BFGoodrich for his Slash 4X4 VXL are worse than the stock tires. They don’t grip as well, balloon way more, and are heavier, leading to decreased battery life and higher temps

Due to the torque it puts on the drivetrain, using self-righting always has some inherent risks. Tires aren’t invincible. If the bond is weak, putting that much torque on a wheel that is not planted on the ground could easily break the glue and bust the tire. That being said, I’ve used self-righting quite a bit on my Hoss and have had no issues with the tires busting, so my guess is you got a bad tire

Steve Leahy Because they are called wheels. The rim is the outer edge of the wheel where the tire seats. So the people calling wheels rims are the ones who are wrong.

The plastic in the middle is the rim it holds the tire and attaches to the axle. Technically the wheel is the tire and rim however the rim does get called the wheel as it is the main part. If someone calls it a wheel they might not know or, they think the rim is the wheel separate from the tire.
