Wow if only other hair dressers spent this much time and care I could have platinum blonde hair like this but instead I’ve spent so much money for absolute laziness. Never again. Trying to learn everything I can on KZbin so I can do it myself and save money and time and not be disappointed. Thank you!!
@krothwell8172 жыл бұрын
Most "hair dressers" can't spend that much time on a client unless their whole day is booked for that one client. If you only schedule a 2hour service we can only take 2 hours on you. If not we over lap other clients appointments. Most hair stylists don't get paid hourly, it's commission (percentage of services). So most of the time I end up splitting up this 7hr process into 3 different appointments because most people don't have 7 hours to sit or have over $600 to spend on their hair in one day. 🤷♀️
@ItsmeBish5842 жыл бұрын
@@krothwell817 it is on the stylist to determine how long a session will take them. This is why in person consultations with your clients are so important. You can't blame laziness and a lack of professionalism on a client. If you're a good stylist you're not scheduling 2 hour sessions for every single person. THAT is lazy and based on such quick client turn over you're obviously only in it for the money not the art and beauty of it . Get a different job.
@krothwell8172 жыл бұрын
@@ItsmeBish584 where did I say I only schedule 2 hours with each client or blaming the client? Re read what I wrote. I said you would have to book the whole day with that client. Where I work I have a book of regulars who pre-book with me and I have new clients who will schedule color or highlights with me online that usually books out about 2hours or a balayage for about 3/4 hrs. Most people don't want to just have a consultation and then wait weeks to get in to get their hair done after telling them it will take 7 hours and possibly $600. A lot of clients can't spend that much money at once or dont have the time to be in the salon all day long to achieve something like this. I love what I do and have plenty of loyal clients who continuously come back to me for 13 years so nope I think I picked the right profession, I'm not downing this girls work, it's amazing and I wish I could work in a salon like this. But I live in a small town not a big city. So I'm just being realistic.

I have to say that this turned out really nice. I am not a professional hairstylist but I am a client of who did this. I had the exact color mix as this client did. My hairdresser did the exact same thing but did not evaluate my hair very well. My hair looked really good the first few days but then after a few weed my hair got really dry and brittle and was very hard to work with. Practically did major deep conditioning and took a very long time for me to get my hair back in good condition. Then it was hard to keep the orange tone to show through. I regret doing it. If I had to do it again I would’ve done multiple sessions and done it gradually. I regret doing it.

Its not the stylists fault. Bleach is going to damage your hair. No matter what brand, volume, formula mixture, if you do it or a licensed professional... it is going to damage your hair. Technically it is designed to damage the hair to allow color out. Bleach is extremely alkaline and it makes your hair swell and the cuticle to lift and allow the color, melanin, to come out. Everything you do afterwards like deep conditioning, using purple or blue shampoo/conditioner, going in for a toner monthly. Having and maintaining blonde hair requires a lot of work for the client 💜

How is one side when it is all rinsed out able to not be over-processed from the other one? not too sure if that makes sense
@SakuraUchiha23283 жыл бұрын
This is such a helpful video! Thank you for posting it. I do have a question if you don't mind me asking - I'm not a professional stylist but I've been experimenting on my hair for the past few weeks with small sections of blonde highlights at the back of my head (where it's hidden so nobody can see if I messed up hair haha). I bought blondeme and am using 7 vol and 30 vol developers for on and off scalp. My hair is around a level 3 at the ends (it's been dyed before 2 years back) and from my roots to the middle of my hair, they're virgin hair level 1. I've been leaving the bleach on for the recommended developing time of 45 minutes and it usually lifts to level 7-8 and I'd have to rebleach it again to get level 9, and then once more to get level 10. I'm a little wary of leaving the bleach on for longer than 45 minutes because I'm afraid I might damage my hair too much but so far it's been pretty soft and silky. I've used bonding treatments from the blondme range post bleach to mantain the hair integrity too. Okay so I rambled on for quite a bit but my question is: can I leave the bleach on for longer than 45 minutes? In the video you said that your client has been sitting with the bleach and foils for quite a while and her hair still looked amazing at the end of it all. My other question regarding toning: I toned my level 10 hair with the blondeme toner and it washed out the next wash (2 days later). I've been using the olaplex shampoo and conditioner and the kerastase purple shampoo too. Is there a way for me to prevent the toner from washing out too quickly or did I not apply it correct? I applied it after bleach and let it sit for 15 minutes
@hairpainter3 жыл бұрын
You can let the bleach sit longer than 45 minutes if the hair still feels good. It just loses its strength after a certain amount of time so it won't lift as quickly..you can also mix up fresh lightener and reapply in each foil so you don't have to wash and try to pick out each highlight you already did. (As shown in the video) Make sure you shampoo the lightener out twice, don't condition and then towel dry your hair so it's slightly damp. Then apply your toner and let it sit up to 20 minutes before shampooing it out.. It's best to wait 48 hours before washing your hair again after your color service. This gives your hair enough time to return to its normal pH level and your hair will hold the toner much better.

This turned out amazing! I’ve got similar colour brown (little lighter than a 6). I’m going in for a bleaching to get to ash blonde with shadow roots. I have fine hair and it’s not thin but it’s not thick either. Last time I dyed it was over a year ago and it was professionally done. I’ve dyed my hair blue, black, auburn and bleached to blonde myself many times however I’ve used lots of hair restructuring shampoos and conditioners (NAK) as well as hair masks and bond enhancers nice it was last dyed. My sister is a hairdresser so I’ve been speaking to her about my hair health and she said it’s super healthy now and it would be safe to bleach it 🥳🥳🥳. Thank you for this information, I’ll be asking lots of questions about the process they’re doing during my appointment to make sure they’re doing this as I don’t want to come out looking horrible. (Every time I’ve gone to the salon it’s been a horror story. I went in to go blonde from blonde (a touch up) and they dyed my entire hair purple, no it was not from the toner. This happened twice and I only went there to support the family friends business. The last time I went to see her which was the last time I dyed it I asked for a cool brown and they gave me warm brown with a SUPER orange undertone, my hair was my natural colour at this point so they didn’t have to add any colour to get it to that.🤦🏼♀️

Great job and education video👍.i think you could do a color remover first to the mids and lengths of the hair so it could be a bit easier for the bleach to kick that orange dyes out.my opinion on that with respect🙏
@BobbyHairStudio3 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree! Colour remover can help a lot (sometimes it doesn’t look like it’s doing anything on the outside but it’s often helping a lot more under the surface)

It seems like you left the bleach on her hair for 4 hours straight. Double processing, double bleach times. How did her hair not fall off?

Does this process damage the hair?

Hello! I need some help please! I have virgin hair level 4/5 and i'm about to bleach my hair. I want to put some serious bright coloring over it, so i'll probably bleach twice. Can you tell me if i should use a 20 or a 30 developer and why? I was advised 20, but im wondering why not 30? Would it make a big difference? I hope you want to help your work looks great!
@ananthepan2424 Жыл бұрын
20. I am no where near a pro but honestly , better safe than sorry. Especially if you’re doing it at home. I’d say just take it slower. Meaning, less vol but maybe 2x bleaching with 20 vol rather than 1x with 30 vol for the integrity of your hair

Omg!!! IT LOOKED AMAZING. PERFECT JOB. Here comes my question then. Is this would work on a natural henna colored hair?
@BobbyHairStudio3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! In my experience with Henna, no, but there’s no harm in trying a test strand?

@@BobbyHairStudio How long was the bleach in her hair? Isn't bleach suppose to be in hair no more than an hour max?

I have a question, I’m a cosmetology student, I did my brothers hair today, I used a 8 & 10 a to tone, the ends sucked up all the purple, would adding a neutral or gold counteract this? My teacher had mentioned a filler, but for future reference. Thank you!
@BobbyHairStudio3 жыл бұрын
Yes! Whenever the canvas isn’t 100% the same from top to bottom (which is 99.99% of the time to be honest) I add in some gold or beige into the formula to help fill and balance the toner so the porous areas don’t get too ashy
