You can be happy that you lost 10 pounds. That's still a lot. :) I still wonder how you guys did that, I didn't loose anything after two months, but this was also not the reason why I became vegan.

I've definitely tried more foods in my 3 years of veganism than I ever did in my entire life before that. Honestly the restrictions made me more adventurous, because before I just ate what I already knew I liked. I could have whatever I wanted before, and that freedom made me too comfortable and tbh I'm much more greatful for healthy delicious food than ever.

PeanutButter Queen I know the feeling, I’ve been vegan for a couple of months and I haven’t lost weight (I’m not overweight), yet I somehow feel lighter and have more energy. Meat used to sit heavy in my stomach, like it took forever to be digested. That feeling is gone and for that reason alone I will never go back. Good luck for the future 😊

I definitely agree with going at your own pace AND setting distinct goals. I made the ethical connection a long time ago but it took me a while to get my shit together - about 3 years in total. I started by cutting out red meats, then chicken, then eggs, then seafood, then the rest of my dairy products. I started changing what I could by having clear boundaries in my head, dairy in my coffee was one of the first things to go despite me still having dairy products in desserts. I didn't tell many people about transitioning because I wasn't sure I could handle the social aspect of it, but I set my boundaries at home so that I was fully vegan at home but not always when I was sharing food with friends outside. When I finally worked up the courage to tell my friends and commit fully, the change was so subtle I don't even know why I was so hung up on it in the first place. So there you go, almost 2 years past and still going strong. I would like to add one additional tip to what Rose's has said. That is BE COMPASSIONATE. Not just to the animals and the environment that we work so hard to protect, but also other human beings - vegans and ESPECIALLY non-vegans. It took me 3 years to come around, someone else might take less, or more, time. It's not our place to shit all over them. Instead, be respectful and educated so that when people genuinely want to know more you can encourage and guide them. And when people are looking for a fight you can use logic and research to pound them into the ground.

Not gonna lie, I just became official trash for rice and beans when I went vegan, so... That was easy. Lol. I really thank my family for accepting it because that actually allowed me to go (and stay) vegan overnight. Also, I definitely agree with the goal setting. Being clear on your goals leaves no room for loopholes and you end up ACTUALLY following through.

I eat a Whole foods plant based vegan diet mainly. But I also apply other aspects of veganism where it is practically and affordable such as avoiding animal based house cleaning products and toiletries including those tested on animals. Yes beans are part of the legumes family but I knew that before I was vegan because I am a horticulturist. I order from Real Foods in Edinburgh or Amazon UK .

Cat Down The Road exactly I said that to somebody else on here not to just go and try to replace one thing with a fake thing thinking it's going to taste the same it takes years of not eating something to accept the taste of some of those fake things the Mayo's the butters those are good. I never drink milk because I'm not a baby cow LOL that's my favorite actually it's because I was allergic to all animal protein violently. And even really heavy vegetable protein in large amounts like spinach. the point is is I was raised on soy milk so it's not a shocker for me to taste plant milk my advice is to stay away from things for a very long time and I still don't eat fake Meats but I've been 53 years vegan and I'm 53 so you know I did have bits of shellfish like I told the person on here on a different question or comment as a little one but only one we were at the cabin and that was in the summer I did not like things that blood like fish smell made me sick to my stomach and meet reminds me of skews me bit like a feminine product on a hot day. I don't get why people like it I hated the smell from day one. I know that because my mother told me she said the first time she tried to feed me meat I turned my head but you know babies know their body. we have things pressed on us as children and were indoctrinated into lifestyles so if you were fed lots of vegetables there's no problem with getting your kids to eat vegetables Etc. I guess I got off on a tangent I do that. Plus using this beautiful voice to text that will put a word in here that makes no sense at all or many words that make no sense at all. And I can proofread but the minute I hit send it changes. Today I'm having a blindness problem long story. but I very much agree to just eat more fresh Whole Foods find new recipes new things and eventually you can make pretty much every dish that you ever ate out of something from the vegetable family and replace that basic craving. That was one of the things I've done in my life for a living and used to make really good money when I could still do it hopefully I'll be able to do it again. Unfortunately I don't have the help to heal as fast as I could. many sucks unless you have a bunch of it like I used to LOL blessings to you too!

Those vegan snacks would have won me over in a heartbeat if I wasn’t vegan! But I like that I made a gradual transition towards a vegan lifestyle. It was a lot easier for me to research more and more about veganism prior to acting upon it so I can make more rational decisions. I think if I were to go vegan overnight, it wouldn’t have been as sustainable! But now that I am vegan, I couldn’t ever think of going back!

Can I say that I love you? It does not matter, I love you. Great video. Anyway, I became a vegetarian recently when I lived in a medium-sized city in my country. Then it was difficult to find tofu at a good price, but now that I had to return to my hometown, it is simply impossible (I give the example of tofu because it is a basic product that helps to remember that being vegetarian is more than just salads). I do not say that it is difficult to be vegetarian, or that it is impossible to be vegan, the point is that it is much easier when you live in a community with people interested in veganism and more choice of products. Maybe that's why I feel some envy that you have options like Thrive, which sounds incredibly great. Greetings from Chile.

I am moving to a place where the tofu is not so cheap as it is now at my place. But I am totally fine with it even though I love tofu. The smoked one is the best. I will be a happy vegan even without tofu on a regular basis. Even if there were no tofu at all I will never ever going back and eat my friends or steal their secretions. One idea: I can make my own tofu!

I just became vegan from being vegetarian 2 months ago. I joined a 30 days online lecture about becoming vegan (isshappy.de, I totally recommend it) with the thought that it might help me to finally change, but I wasn't sure if I could really do it. The funny thing was: It was so easy, especially eating vegan at home. The only thing that is hard for me is eating out, as I live on the countryside and there are no vegetarian or vegan restaurants in the area. But at least I'm getting better and better at making all the good stuff at home. :)

Dairy is going to be the hardest because I love my greek yogurt. I eat like 7-10 per week. I've tried some vegan yogurts and didn't like them plus more expensive. Sigh. I’m 95% plant based since last September but like you’ve said... I’m having a hard time giving up on fish. Especially there are so many Korean dishes that use fish as soup base or fish sauce...or even in Kimchi, there are small shrimp salt thing and others... I don’t go and get rainbow trout but if the noodle soup is fish based...but I don’t see fish floating in the soup... I let that slide... 😞😞 but hopefully some day, I can say firm NO to all..

After watching that movie, I couldn't be like "awww okay so this is really what's happening, it made you cry, but let's have some scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast, shall we?" NO WAY. The change for me wasn't very hard, I didn't miss much except for cheese (I am french so yeaah cheese is life for me!) But at that time, I didn't know all the options that were possible for me. I started baking A LOT, same as you (and I failed a lot aswell...yes vegan baking is a lot harder/stricter than I thought) and then I discovered a big passion for cooking savoury food. I wasn't too much of a cook before going onto a plant based diet to be honest. It's been almost a year now that I've made that change in my life and I'm loving it! Especially since I discovered your channel, you have really great recipes and way to do things, it looks so much easier and fun than I thought, and your personally is just beautiful. Sorry for my long message, congratulations if you made it that far! Thank you again for your great work, we all really appreciate it. It might look easy but putting all those videos together take time, inspiration and practice. You are doing awesome

FourEyesProduction I’ve been vegan for a few months and I don’t miss meat, but yes I really miss cheese!!! I was thinking that maybe there is a nutrient or mineral in it that my body needs and that’s why. Just guessing though.

sweat1across it's scientifically proven that cheese is just as addicting as heroin. Our body gets easily addicted to processed foods (aka cheese) so that might be why :)

Totally agree with you guys!! Cheese was just a very addictive thing to me, on bread, on pasta, lasagna or straight up whatever it was so good. But now I don't miss it at all, I basically use cashew nuts to make parmesan or creamy pasta for exemple and it does the trick, it's even better than the food I used to have !! Do you guys get the same thing? That the taste of the food changes when you go vegan ? it's incredible !!

FourEyesProduction i'm not vegan but pescetarian for nearly 5 months now and I cut out a lot of dairy already :) I'm not ready to go vegan yet because it's very expensive where I live but the main reason is that I have a troubled relationship with food atm and cutting out more foods would just act as an even bigger restriction for me!

I totally understand what you mean. I've seen some of my friends, even family being okay going vegetarian but not vegan, it depends where you are in the world, how affordable food is at the time of your life change, I get it. But you can do it with baby steps, you already cut meat so YAAAAY to you ! You are doing great, small changes at a time is very important, even if my journey was a bit different, it helps to cut out little by little. Good luck on your journey and hope you feel better eating less animal products, it really changes your life ! :)

I eat a lot of vegan food for someone who isn’t vegan lmao - I am super against animal cruelty so when I get meat I go to local farmers & make sure they raise & slaughter the animals in the most humane way possible. Also side note - zoos are incredible & most of them are saving animals from extinction. No reason to avoid them these days.

Eating things out of a can aren’t supposed to be very good for you. (My oncologist words were nothing out of a can or box) it’s the metals. So the packaging is nice. I’m trying thrive! Thank you sista from anotha mista! 😁
