How To Groom A Dog's Face - Instruction About Beard, Top of Head, Over Eyes, Snout, Etc.

In this video I covered as many face-grooming basics as I could in as little time as possible.
These techniques are fairly universal for any dog with a beard. Much of it can be adapted to curly haired dogs.
Time was of the essence; this dog is quite old and can't stand up. I groomed as quickly (and of course as safely) as I could to get him home and comfortable. I absolutely loved him!

I love watching your videos although I don't think I can ever achieve this. I groom my dogs between professional grooms but they always look unfinished with obvious mistakes lol.

They get so tired . And especially with ppl trying to teach online. This is why I give mine breaks and allow them to lay down esp when they are being this good. !! He needs a break from the lead around his throat. And ALL THE DAMN DOGS BARKING

Wow this dog has many Westie features. Except those ears?? I kept thinking the ears would stand up if all that fur was cut off. But maybe it's a mixed breed?

I think he was probably a mix. I suspect some maltese or a similar breed, although he was a tad bigger than the average maltese so Westie could make sense too! But I don’t believe those ears would stand up even if they were shaved naked into dorito ears! 😄

Yes, his back end actually wasn't working well at all. He couldn't stand up and even has to wear a diaper at home. That's why we kept a towel under him for this groom, and tried to get done quickly since we knew he would get tired easily!

@@GoodDogGrooming These are much too expensive for me. Can you recommend something more economical for non professional home use? Also, I don’t know the difference between a thinner, chunker, blender, etc. Do you have a video demonstrating and explaining what each is used for? I clipped my Cairn Terrier for the first time today and pretty much butchered her face with my straight scissors.😱

You do a good job, but you really shouldn't rip his beard like you do and yank it around like that.
