I was stressed out just watching her. Poor doggy!! I’d never take my dog to her. She was too aggressive with the dog and went too fast.
@Jules-zm8uz5 жыл бұрын
Guys stop hating of her going to fast! Sometimes they have to go fast Caus one sometimes they have to hurry or two because they are to nervous and they might get aggressive! My mom works a a grooming place for dogs cats and any animal and she does this to even the rest of her co workers! It’s normal. Besides some dogs are scared because it’s there first time or they having a hard time without there owners! There your welcome ☺️

My goodness, that could be my little Maltese who is also 12. Going quickly is good to keep her from getting too anxious. I just bathed mine this morning to help with his itchy skin and could see how thin his hair is. Mine isn't happy when you get too close to his eyes either.

I really enjoy watching this. We had a Maltese that was 15… I miss the little guy…. He never liked having his front paws messed with, typical Maltese! Didn’t like having his face messed with either… I really like it that you clear the hair off the table frequently…
@mroth31993 жыл бұрын
Same with mine, who sadly passed away a few months ago at 16. Face was not such a problem but front paws were definitely a no-go zone. I hated having to trim her hair/nails in that area because of how uncomfortable it made her. Still hurts and the void in my hear from losing her will never heal, but I'm thankful for the years we got to share together! Good luck!

i swear Dede I need to stop reading the comments in these videos. People are so judgemental of what you do without actually being there an knowing the full story. The pet parents KNOW whats going on..the mom was right there...shes not harsh at all shes firm with animals. They dont need to be cuddled an babied all the time when grooming. You dont wanna be positive towards an animal when they are reacting in a bad way that just enforces the bad behavior. Dede does such good work that vets an other groomers recommend her highly. people travel a fair distance to see her. Dede as i said before you keep being amazing and doing the blessed work you do now. Dont ever let these nay sayers get you down!

Maltese dogs are little tough guys and need a firm hand, or they'll run the session and it'll stress them out worse because then it takes too long. My Maltese hates to be groomed, too. Pushes back the whole time, every single time. There's no way around it. (Doesn't mind scissors though!) (He is the sweetest guy for everything else with a great personality, and otherwise loves to please!)

I've never seen a groomer give such a fast groom and bath before on a SENIOR dog.There wasn't even a later with the shampooing plus you only giving one bath. You didn't seem to wash between the toes or wash her face well. When you rinsed it looked like you sprayed water down into her nose. You need to slow down a little. Especially with Seniors and your Puppies. I watch a lot of grooming videos and you are the only one that seems to be in to much of a hurry. Maybe leave your senior dogs and puppies for the end of your day so you don't have to rush so much with them. I was also wondering why you don't use a comb on her or the puppy. You did recommend the owner to use one to find the knots on the puppy .

Hi Dede! I have an almost 5 month old Maltese and I am learning how to groom her. What guard numbers are you using on this particular Maltese? I have been brushing her regularly but her hair is so shaggy. I want to shave it but I am worried I will shave it too short. Thanks!

If she is wanting to bite, do you not think that she may have knots? It would definitely be better to brush her hair out before you use the shaver. It would be less stress for her. Don't you think??
@kaylahall12196 жыл бұрын
Brushing would just add time and pull on tangles. When the dog is shaved it gets underneath all of those knows and takes them right off, faster and safer.

Dede, When going in reverse it just helps blend the hair? Thank you for another great video
@myfavoritegroomer7 жыл бұрын
In this case yes. But, not always. Going in reverse (depending on the guard you use) can mean almost the same thing as going with the grain with a blade. I have the guard video in the works for you! :) I don't like going reverse with the guard unless, like in this case, you've got that random straight light hair that the blade going WITH the grain seems to make the dog look boney and or the hair is just so choppy. Then come back with a guard reverse. The guard reverse takes out more of the hair and takes out at a different angle allowing the hair to fold together and lay better. Here's an example of ways to use the guards written: 2 grd reverse head (watch the ear flaps) great teddy bear head. Pick your length and use the guard you need to make the head proportional to the body you just clipped. 1 guard reverse is leaving the head longer than the 2 guard reverse. 4 guard reverse head is going to leave the head shorter than the 1 or 2 guard reverse. Do the sides of the face the same or go up one. For example, 2 guard reverse head, 1 guard reverse sides of cheeks, 1 guard down or 2 guard down on chin and blending the neck together. Great teddy bear face without hand scissoring a lot. Of course, before you use the guard brush all the hair on the head good and brush forward into the eyes, use the guard, any thing left hanging over the eyes scissor like the top of the sun rounded. Wala! :)

I am all stressed out looking at this video, she is so rough, the poor dog is so anxious, clipper so close to his eyes, the way the water is sprayed to its face etc...it must have been a real nightmare for him. Looking at this I just hope this is not the way they treat her at the groomer.

Would it be possible not to cut the whiskers, couse they are very important to dogs just as to cats or other animals..I have never seen anybody to be cautious about that :(
@myfavoritegroomer7 жыл бұрын
nenne707 it is possible. But hard. I am aware of it. When whiskers are trimmed with the face I have NEVER seen the pet scream or even notice it. I think he comments are overrated but I do believe cat whiskers are completely different. But I do take note.
@nenne7076 жыл бұрын
Highly sensitive to subtle changes in air currents, canine whiskers serve as receptors for important information about the size, shape and speed of nearby objects. This helps dogs - for whom vision is not the most highly evolved trait - "see" objects more clearly, even in the dark. Being able to feel vibrations in the air also helps dogs sense approaching dangers.
