Such a lovely video. You brought that bush to life like it were a fairytale. It’s a gorgeous color but your charming ways enhance the bush. I will kill your propagation after I try tomorrow. Thank you so much and have a wonderful summer.

i'd really recommend "encore azaleas" which blom 2-3 times a year - spring, summer and autumn, otherwise azaleas take too much space for the whole year without doing much. Encore azaleas also drop their flowers so no need to bother with removing brown flowers:) Encore need a full sun position ideally to bloom three times which is a challenge for my garden but probably a much easier task for bigger gardens.

I know, those azaleas are impressive! Unfortunately not quite hardy for my area. I really don't want to buy plants hardy to zone 6 only. Thank you for your wonderful suggestion, folks in warmer areas should definitely check them out!

I just found your channel and love your content! I'm not far (Long Island). I think I might have identified your beautiful azalea.. I believe it's a Rhododendron X Gumpo Pink Satsuki Azalea!!

My azaleas, in Pittsburgh, were so deeply rooted that I struggled to get them out of the ground when I was renovating the garden. I ended up leaving it in place. Also, the three in my garden had absolutely no shade and flourished in the sun.

Looks like your azaleas love you and your garden. They refuse to leave! Enjoy them this time of the year!

You mentioned they don’t like clay soils, so would a raised bed be fine? Something thats like 1 foot tall and connected to the ground underneath

Olga, do you know the name of that azalea? It is gorgeous. Oh darn, I just got to the part where you say you don't know what it is. She's just beautiful.

Yes, no name, but I see a lot of azaleas for sale in that color in garden centers. You can go by the color and mature size.

it is a Kirin

Never had a lot of success with azaleas. I have tried them in the garden and in containers...even with acid conpost. 😢
@OlgaCarmody Жыл бұрын
Yes, azaleas are particular about soil acidity. Some plants just won't grow for us.

It looks like the Kurume azalea 'Coral Belle'. And it would 30 years old or more.
