They certainly like shade and not watering too much. Grow from seeds are so simple. In Australia they bloom in late winter and early spring, just so beautiful especially in gloomy winter when cold outside yet so many flowers blooming makes you happy. Last year we have harvested about 70 flowers for about 20 plants. You separate them is very cool, each one of my plant can separated into 5-10 plants, but I don't want or bear to cut them so they just keep on growing bigger and bigger until pots changed shape. maybe from seeds is more pleasant it needs about 2-3 weeks or so before little plant grow out of the dirt I keep diary of them you need to use very mature and dry seeds though.

My clivia are in the ground under a porte cochere which does get sun in late afternoon. I am dividing mine this week 1/2022, after 4 years. I would NEVER break a beautiful teal pot! Lol I feed them a few times a year, but they are very durable. Don’t worry about them. Wait until the seed pods turn red to cut them at base. Plant them in a shady area. If you cannot plant them in the ground, use cheap pots. 😂👍🏼👍🏼

Great video. Was wondering if I could centre a single clivia into a planter box that's 18 cm deep, 18 cm wide and 40cm long, or do you think that would be too small?

I have a clivia and it is really ready for repotting. I dont know the variety but the flowers are orange and the seeds it produces are green and much smaller than yours in the video. It is a houseplant here in Canada, and so I am repotting for the first time and need to know how to do it and separate the new baby about 5ins. Some folk say not to use soil but use bark chips
