Amazing to think that small seed can grow into a huge tree. Nature is wonderful. Thanks for the interesting video, you must have so many plants growing at the moment. :)

Nice Video! I do like Redwood trees and the Dawn Redwood especially because it is a decidous conifer like Larch. It is also easy to grow from cuttings.

thanks!you just reminded me about that! I have the seeds for redwood but need to plant them! may do a video on them in the future as they take a long time to grow to start with

@@shaunwistow5840 no the fridge is cold so evaporation is slow. Otherwise all your food will go bad. That's what a fridge does

Its not complicated like in this video so no reason to follow any of the advice in this video. You can put them in water and see what seeds floats, but you can also feel by weight which seeds are fertile. Anyway, a beech produces a thousand seeds per year so no real reason to do this. Store seeds until winter ends. No need for fridge time. prepare a pot with potting soil. None of the seeds i put under 1 cm of soil germinated. The ones that germinated were 3 inches under the soil in moist potting soil. after 2 months, i was curious what was happening, and saw that none of the top ones germinated, perhaps because the top dries out sometimes, but the seed 4 inches under the soil was sprouting. so i removed the top 3 inches and watered it and it is growing.

Yes you can do it like that,I explained both methods. People don't in the fridge if they dont have many seeds(if they brought some)I put the seeds 1cm in the compost in the fridge and then potted them deeper.I understand you,but no need to dislike and soni ask you to watch the video and to listen to what I say.just trying to help,if you read many pages it gives the fridge method but I also explain the natural method as that is easier if you have a lot of seeds. I do the water test as some seeds may have bugs in and you dont want them getting in the other ones.thanks, hope I explained this better for you and wish you the best on your tree growing!
