The eggfruit seeds i purchased from you are doing great! They grew with no problem. They are tiny trees now. I have them in the ground zone 9a

Do you plant the seed as is? Or do you break open the hard outer shell to get a smaller seed inside? What would be the best soil I can get from Lowe’s?

I plant the seed as is. Any potting mix will do, just make sure to add extra drainage like perlite or cinder

Hi. Thank you for sharing. Do you graft the tree? how long it takes to fruit? grafted or nor grafted,
@HomesteadinHawaii5 ай бұрын
You don't have to graft eggfruit, they come out pretty true to seed, I had one fruit at a friends place after 5-6 years after planting from seed but production was much better @ 7-10 years

Surprised you need to buy soil when you have been growing for so long, you don't have deep soil across your land to pull from, you don't incorporate any native soil into your mix? Have you considered propagating IMOs? Lots of Natural Farmers in the islands, curious what your thoughts are on the Natural Farming process

Where I live, every bit of soil built up is precious. I live in the wet tropics, where leaching soils is characteristic. You have to constantly add organic matter just to keep up. I would like to get into IMO's, maybe that will be something I do this year. It could make for a better potting soil.

@@HomesteadinHawaii yea man totally, we live in the humid tropics in Panama and the IMO has made a difference for sure.
