"Low porosity " usually means you have product buildup from constant use of oils and butters on your hair and if that's the case, clarifying shampoos will take care of that. Porosity only matters if you're getting ready to do a chemical service And how is your hair "soaking up product" if you're "low porosity"? High porosity usually soaks up product. I would actually agree about rice brand oil. That's an ingredient in Wild Growth Oil and another oil be KeraVeda. Rice brand oil can be used in place of making rice water

Hair type (curl pattern) is different from Hair Texture. Texture is more important than curl pattern. Product selection is based on YOUR texture, not someone else's, even though the other person's hair may LOOK the same but there may be other factors to consider.

Thank u so much for sharing the rice oil tip. I cut my hair to not completely bald but to the very nape of my neck. That was in February by October I’m at collarbone length. I’ve just worn protective styles ( box braids are my go to) & have just taken a regular collagen pill along w hair, skin & nail ( or w a prenatal vitamin) which works well for me. I’ve been recovering from damage I just stopped caring for my hair. The rest of my hair Is pretty good actually it’s just my edges. No, they’re not bald at all I would just like them to be thicker & for my left side (it’s thinner on that size) to grow evenly with the other. I will be purchasing this oil to try it alone. Or mixing all the ingredients myself in since I own majority of them anyways. So thanks again! 🙂🙃😘🤞🏽

Pattern beauty products are over priced for the ingredients they use. You can get better products for less or the same price. With better ingredients. Camille rose, Soultanicals, the mane choice, mane krush, product junkie naturals, shescentit , nature's little secret. The brands I listed are companies that use better ingredients than pattern beauty. Ingredients that can and will increase your hair growth. Adding oils to the hair before adding water/ a water based product doesn't make anysense. Unless the oil is a penetrating oil. If it isn't it will block moisture from getting into your strands. I have low porosity and not all low porosity hair acts the same nor likes the same ingredients/ products.

dumb questions (brotha that never really took care of his hair but conscious about it now) 1. do you apply the oils first before you wash your hair or do you apply the oils after? 2. in regards to the oils are you applying these daily if so are you leaving the oils in or rinsing them out? 3. i wear alot of fades is it best for me to just use a leave in conditioner with oils to keep moisture? 4. what is co-wash and how do you use it with the oils?
@nataliethompson28113 жыл бұрын
Apply oils after you wash your hair as the oils are supposed to lock in the moisture. It’s recommended that you oil/moisturise your hair every 2/3 days. When moisturising your hair use your water based product first i.e.the leave in conditioner and seal it in with the oils after. A co-wash is washing your hair with a conditioner cleanser (there are specific products)... it’s supposed to be more moisturising and less harsh. Hope that helps!
