Apostolic too! My hair has had the best growth over the last 1.5 years. You mentioned hair breathing and scalp cleansing. I quit washing daily and going to every other day or 3rd day if I am going to be home. I am trying to stop using hair elastics, I am experiencing with hair wrapping. I also started using essential oils on my scalp along with organic coconut oil. I use maybe 2-3 drops of oil to the same coconut oil and it feels great on my scalp! I seldomly apply any sprays, gels, or heat. I always allow my hair to naturally dry before styling. Our hair will grow with love and care!

I recently switched to sulfate free and I'm like why it does my hair look so terrible after taking it out of a braid it used to look awesome cuz I love doing the heatless curls. But now it's like frizzy and I've never really have that problem with the products I used to use before.

HAHA! I'm a fairly new Apostolic older lady and I was really looking for things to do for long hair. I am either a ponytail and run Momma/Gramma or wash and go. I would love to find a few videos to help with that but I found you and was listening. Even though I didn't grow up Apostolic, my Daddy didn't like for me to have short hair. So my Momma had to get creative with hair that was long thick and heavy (Not so true these days, but what do you expect for 54years old :).) A lot is in how you brush and comb your hair. Starting at the end with either the comb or brush. I find that using a wide-tooth comb when your hair is wet is way better and not as much breakage. Momma didn't use heat on my hair and I didn't start doing that until I was an adult. That is something that I wished that I had never done because it tore my hair up. By the time I was 30, my hair had been short for a long time. I knew better, knew it it wasn't right in my gut and at the time I didn't know that there was scripture for it. When I did get into the church. I huge change came over me. No more dying, I don't use heat very much, I don't use a lot of products in my hair. I wash and condition. I take vitamins for some health issues I have and they have helped my hair grow from shoulder length to almost hip length and still growing. It has taken a long while but I know that I am not cutting my hair, I'm using good conditioners and I do a good oil or conditioner treatment every so often. Now if I could find a way to soften some of the grey hairs that spring out of this head of mine. LOL, I found your information refreshing as some girls want instant help and it doesn't work that way. God Bless!

I'm not a a Pentacostal/Apolistic woman so I am not sure why women from your denomination arent supposed to cut or trim their hair? My hair is almost to my hips (I dont cut my hair only get trims like every 8 months since it keeps my hair from breaking off..i have very slow growing & dry hair..took me 6 years just to get it this long). I don't mean the question to be rude at all! I am a Christian and I agree that women should have long hair since it is our glory, but I don't understand the no trims part. Just asking for clarity :)
@LifeWithJenn4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for being so kind! 🧡 in 1 Corinthians 11:6 Paul is talking about a women who does not wear a covering over her head, and it’s shameful for a women to have cut or shaved head. Then if we look at verse 15, he tells us that a women’s long hair is her covering. So we believe that any cutting, ( we consider trimming, cutting) that it is a shame for us because our long uncut hair is given to us for a covering and it’s our glory. I know there are many many interpretations of these scriptures, and ultimately it boils down to God convicting our hearts about these things and making sure our hearts are pure and we are wholesome through Jesus. I don’t shame, or bring down anyone who sees things differently than I do. God has put this on my heart to not cut my hair in anyway. And others may feel differently and that’s okay! Thank you for asking for a clarification! I appreciate it, and am thankful for your kindness when asking 😁

It has taken me 5 years to grow my hair from the middle of my back to below my bottom. So I understand the long process that takes! 🧡
@ladydough4 жыл бұрын
Thats interesting! I know especially in todays times there is an interpretation for everything, even women completely foregoing having long hair but I do agree that it boils down to conviction..and I think a lot of people arent at a place in their walk with the Lord to where they can really understand parts of the Bible. I know I get a lot of things wrong! Anyway, I am going to research more into this since it was a topic I had looked at years ago but forgot all about. I have been feeling convicted about how I dress too and am just trying to do right by God. Have a blessed day!

Hi Jenn! I’ve been watching your videos for a while. I don’t cut my hair or use any heat or products on my scalp (dry shampoo, etc.). I also use lots of oils and only wash once a month. I was seeing a lot of growth for about two years, but now it does seem that my split ends are causing my hair to break off and I have lost so much length. The splits are in the middle of my hair, down to the end. The longest layer made it almost to my hips, while the shorter was at my bra line, but now it’s all working it’s way up very quickly (my longest layer is just below my bra line) 😟. Please help!
@LifeWithJenn2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it’s hard to get rid of split ends without cutting them. I would suggest using a deep conditioner on your hair and some oils on your lengths to help give it some added protection. Even though you don’t use heat on your hair, there can still be a lot of damage from rubbing, brushing (mechanical damage).

No one has ever mentioned this in these KZbin videos but the best oil for your hair is the oil your own body makes. The natural sebum on your scalp😊 it’s your dna so made for you and your hair. I just brush my hair with a boar bristle brush each night and don’t wash it for several months and it self cleans and looks amazing. Saves on a ton of money too. The hair industry don’t want you to know this of course otherwise they would loose money.
@LifeWithJenn7 ай бұрын
This might work for some people but not for all. Some women have a lot of oil that their body produces and just brushing into the lengths won’t help the look of their hair because it produces so much of the sebum. And also if women are using products in their hair, it needs to be washed out regularly or they would be dealing with build up on the scalp which can cause issues and build up on the strands which can cause the hair to look dull and not healthy.
@Tuffolo7 ай бұрын
@@LifeWithJenn an over production of sebum is a reaction to the hair being stripped of its natural oils from detergents and shampoo. There have been substantial clinical trials on this as well as research. The hair and beauty industry is one big money making machine con. We in the westernised world are too blind to see it sadly, brainwashed to look and smell and be a certain way. We are born with the tools our body gives us to look after our hair and the natural plants and water that grow on this planet.
