How To Guide: Mobile Charger Connect

In this video we show you how to setup the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect, including how to fit the cables, setup wi-fi and adapt the charging current.
Please make sure that any socket that you are using to charge your vehicle is suitable, if you are not sure we would recommend getting an electrician to check for you.

Can you explain the Porsche Home Energy Manager, perhaps in another video? Very little explanation on-line or from Porsche as to what it is for?

Hello Ralph, The Porsche Home Energy Manager is more designed for buildings with 3 phase supply, this is not commonly avaiable in the UK and we wouldnt recommend the product as you would not see the benifit unless you have a 3 phase supply, please see the link below for more information on the product. www.porsche.com/international/aboutporsche/e-performance/home-charging/

Cool video, but: please quote in kilowatts as this complies with the Porsche Tincan’s brochures: you have set up 3 phase supply in the wallbox - that’s 415v, so at 32A the max into the box will be 13.28 kw…… I think the car takes 10kw with the standard internal charger, so that’s the maximum the standard car will allow.

Hello David, thank you for your comment, in the wall box used in this installation it is fed by a single phase supply rather than a 3 phase supply (we have used a three phase supply to power our charging sockets outside of the building (a blue plug is single phase and a red one is 3 phase)), when using a single phase supply with the 32 amp industrial socket this will supply the vehicle with up to 7.2kW, the Taycan as standard can support up to 11kW when charging from AC (a higher rated charger can be used but the car will only draw up to 11kW), you can specify the vehicle with a 22kW On-Board Charger to take full advantage of a 3 phase supply where the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect can supply the vehicle with up to 22kW meaning reduced charging times. What is the length of the cable from the charger to the vehicle? I understand in the UK They come with 2.5 m but Porsche make a 7.5 meter cable can this be bought separately thanks

Hello, we have a porche cayenne hybrid of 2015. Our charging cable has always had problems, but always got it out. Until last weekend, he blocked completely and didn't unload, tried everything that was in the book, put door back on and off and then you would have time for him to unload. But no, he's stuck. Are very worried that this cannot be repaired, because he does not give an error message after reading the computer. Don't know if it's possible to fix this in the garage and how much it will cost 😢🙏 maybe you know what the problem can be 😔

Hello Amna, Depending on which charger you have selected with your vehicle, the one shown in the video is rated at 32Amps on a 3 Phase supply, your chosen installer would be best suited to help with your electrical wiring.

Would you explain the voltage you are using to power via the blue connector? With the option for 32A charging current, was that still with single phase in the UK (240V)?

Hello Ken, The charger was fitted in our handover bay, we have a single phase 32A socket fitted inside the charger, this will allow you to charge a bit quicker than the normal 3 pin plug; however the quickest way to charge with the Mobile Charger Connect is using a 3 Phase supply.
