Hey g so my question is how exactly do you select the correct type of cardio exercises, heart rate zones and why do you train them in that specific zone Also I want to conclude after a consultation you find the clients hr max and resting, are we taking that hr records and then training the client in their heart rate zone or are we simply examining and monitoring our clients before and after their training blocks to see if they progress?

Awesome! Thanks for the help. How about incorporating cardio in between sets? Like jumping rope or Shadowboxing?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation3 жыл бұрын
I think that could work well depending on the client! We do a similar thing with battle ropes and sliders.

Jeff, your stuff is of high quality and you may try using some marketing tricks to get more views.

Thank you! For better or worse, trainer education videos almost never get too many views on KZbin. Sometimes they do, but not typically!

Awesome video, What type of device do you use for your clients to track their heart rate, calories? What do you recommend or do you use any such?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation3 жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t recommend much. Many of them already have devices like apple watches or fitbits. The cardio machines themselves also typically track calories burned.

Great vid! Thoughts on popular circuit style methods like Tabata, EMOM or AMRAP for cardio? Say, if the client is fit enough with good biomechanics when it comes to compound movements like kettlebell swings or slam balls, do you recommend them for clients who are after fat loss or conditioning? I find that these dynamic circuits that incorporate full body exercises are what seems to be the trend nowadays, hence the rise in F45 or Crossfit. Again, assuming the client is fit enough with low injury risk, would you include them into your PT sessions to keep things interesting ans engaging (instead of boring old cycling or treadmills)?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation3 жыл бұрын
I think incorporating those things sometimes is not a bad idea! Relying on them too much for one-on-one or very small group probably isn’t ideal though. If that’s what they were after they’d likely do a larger group class type thing. Again though, small doses of that can be a good thing! I do that some of my clients as well!
@pchiethegreat13 жыл бұрын
@@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation Awesome. My programs for my clients are primarily resistance training based (regardless of goal) but I do these circuit style training for the cardio benefits, as I find that these are what they enjoy the most compared to the more traditional cardio machines. Of course, as you pointed out, I do them in small doses and I only incorporate exercises that are appropriate. No box jumps to failure for overweight clients (like I see a lot of PTs do!) haha

Nice and knowledgeable video as always 🙏One question sir,what type of cardio exercises needed for the clients who are ectomorph who is working 3 days a week full body workout but in off days what cardio need to be give ?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think with a client like that I would keep their cardio brief and relatively low intensity. Since they’re an ectomorph I would assume they’re trying to add on some muscle mass. Too much cardio would make it more challenging to add muscle mass to their frame. In cases like that I typically rely on brief bouts of cardio within their resistance training sessions and I might have them just do some general conditioning stuff to help maintain cardiovascular fitness.

If you DO have a client do cardio during a session, what do you do while they do it?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation3 жыл бұрын
I only have them do small bouts of cardio during the session. I’ll incorporate some rowing machine and airdyne work on a semi regular basis. I’ll have clients do less machine based cardio as well with things like the battle ropes.
