What kind of drill is that? Do you have it set to a certain number to avoid stripping ?

It’s just a drill driver. The clutch isn’t set. I’m just using slow speed and driving it till it’s tight.

No no. The very best way to do this is, with a square draw a center line on your door top and bottom for the center of the hinge hole, now you put the door up to your face frame on the hinge side and allowing for your overlay, transfer the marks from the door to the face frame or side of cabinet and your hinges will be in the right place. Kreg actually has jig that that you can clamp on the bottom of the door opening that you can set your overlay and the door will sit in this jig while you mark from the door to the cabinet.

What size is the Guage Block

The block is whatever size you need to achieve your overlay and or hinge location. Sometimes it’s taller and sometimes it’s shorter. What I do is put the hinge on the door and measure the distance to the clip so I can figure out the height needed to make my overlay what it needs to be. Then I cut a sample block to see if I’m at my target overlay both on the top and bottom.

The dimensions are based on your placement of the hinge and your door hole. Just put your door up to the cabinet and mark where the hinge needs to go. Then make a block that high. Everyone will have a different height for their exact job. The overlay will change depending on the job too.
