l know I am late to this video. I am type 3A/B. I have been using henna off and on for 40 years. I use it as a colour (I am allergic to almost all permanent dyes), as well as a protein treatment. It DOES colour your hair. I have used bothe powdered henna as well as made my own henna powder from henna leaves. It def colours hair a brownish/mahogany/auburn colour depending on what your natural shade is. If your hair is dry use it as a hair gloss. Mix it with hibiscus tea/ aloe vera gel or juice / plain water. I will give tea a miss. Let it stand for about an hour. Mix in your fav oil (give coconut oil a miss) and add some silicone free moisturising conditioner. Apply to freshly washed slightly damp hair (not sopping wet hair. Let it sit for about an hour cobered with plastic and add some heat if you want. Rinse, apply some conditioner as a cowash. Rinse and follow with deep conditioner as usual.

I differ on 2 points. Henna definitely colours hair. I have used body art grade henna as well as made my own henna powder with hemna leaves. Both coloured my hair. I have 3/4 grey hairs that sit right in front in my bangs and they are always coppery toned after henna. I use henna to colour cos I am allergic to all chemical dyes, use it as a protein treatment too. Imo its a protein treatment. If it strengthens its a protein. I have been using henna for about 40 years now. I do it every 2-3 months. Henna also seems to make my hair look thicker because of the rich brown colour it gives to my mousy brown hair. I remember my grey haired aunt used henna once and her hair was a coppery / reddish tone after natural henna. I am from Cape Town South Africa and we have a huge Muslim community and henna is widely used here for henna art on hands and nails and I am not talking about those with added dyes. Everyone both on KZbin and people around me suggests not using it on grey hair unless you want that coppery tone or use it with indigo. If your hair is already brittle and dry, give it a miss or use it as part of a hair mask. Mix henna about a tbsp with hibiscus tea, aloe vera gel or juice or even powder, oil, honey, not tea (use tea if your hair is NOT dry) Let it stand for an hour. Stir in some conditioner or deep conditioner and apply to clean damp hair. Leave for an hour with a plastic cap and you can use heat and reduce the time. Rinse WELL and then use an ordinary rinse out conditioner as normal. Do not touch your hair until it is thoroughly drenched. Only then use your hands to aid rinsing. Leftover henna can be frozen. I just used some yesterday and I am not disappointed. I still have one more frozen portion left. From amount 2 months ago. I def wouldn't do it once a month unless as part of a deep conditioning mask as I described above. Follow Henna Sooq here on YT, its her field of expertise.

Henna WILL color your hair. I've been using it for two decades and natural Henna does leave a reddish hue and if you have grays, it will turn them completely red. The color is less visible or not as prominent when your hair is darker. The lighter the hair, the more visible the color would be. Loved the video, your hair is beautiful.

Actually, the product you're using is not "henna" its a mix of herbs that also contains henna. if it were just henna, aka "lawsonia inermis" it would say pure henna, not just 100% natural. it says it has many herbs, so this is a hair pack full of natural ayurvedic herbs. Natural pure henna has naturally-occurring dying agents, not man-made chemical processing. It does it by depositing a stain onto the outside of the hair follicle. Thanks for the lovely hair pack tutorial!
@consciouslynatural12764 жыл бұрын
Lana Stewart it is not JUST pure henna, but it does have it as the main ingredient. You can also purchase the henna on its own from the same brand. So it does contain Lawsonia Inermis as well as the other natural pure herbs.
@lanastewart45654 жыл бұрын
I understand what your saying. I just want to make sure people are being educated properly when differentiating between henna packs and herbal hair packs. This is an herbal pack containing henna. It will dye hair that isn't resistant to color (very dark coarse hair is more resistant, especially with less acidic base added to release the natural dying agents). The lighter your hair is, the more color will show up on the hair shaft. I used to make henna hair oil products and have used pure henna to dye my own hair red. If you mix henna with indigo it turns any shade between brown to black due to the chemical changes. I would gently suggest being careful to claim henna doesn't dye hair when it does, just differently for each person and depending on how it's prepared. I loved your video otherwise. 😊

@heartyellow84014 жыл бұрын
I would give your hair a chance to soak in a few "doses" of leave in conditioner, then put in the protective style. Henna can cause your hair to be dry and you'll want to ensure an adequate amount of oils and moisture has been applied before "tucking" your strands away. Hope that makes sense and helps.

Hello. If you have any grey hairs did you notice the henna turn them red?🦰 I have a few grey hairs sprinkled in my hair and on my perimeter. The henna that I purchased was all-natural "with added coffee" (Beauty Herbal brand, green box) so in my mind I thought it would be natural brown color. My natural hair is dark brown and I can barely tell the difference on my un-grey hair with the henna application, but the few sprinkles of gray are now shocks of copper. This somewhat draws more attention to them than when it was just gray. 🙄 Wondering if anybody else noticed that? Also wondering if I got the wrong type of henna or will additional henna application darken the grey hairs ?🤔
@oiputthatback73613 жыл бұрын
I did a gloss and some of my grey strands turned copper 😆, and the other side of head stayed silver 🤭 and the back is black . Do I care , nah , living in the age of creativity and individuality , so I now dubbed my hair as “ the precious metal rainbow of hair colour”. Silver , gold and black diamond. 😆. In all seriousness I want the benefits of henna , next step a henna mask.

Secret Santa IGNORANT - lacking in knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact. People get offended by the use of the word, but what Murrell Jacqui says is true. BBK SuperNatural is incorrect in this instance. Henna deposits an orange reddish tone to the hair. If you have dark or black hair to begin with, it is less noticeable, but it is the case. Over continued use/ years on dark hair you may notice a tint to your hair in sunlight, so the information provided in this video lacked knowledge and information.
