❤️ Henna does wonders for my hair. I didn’t know that I had a curl pattern until I used it for the 1st time.

That's because it's not your natural curl pattern. Henna, loosen your curls. I love how strengthening henna is, but I stop using it because it turned my curly hair into wavy hair.

I use Nupur Henna +9 too - I do a Henna gloss and it’s the joint😍! I I also add a couple of tablespoons of Organic Moringa Powder because of its hair growth and strengthening properties. The minerals in Moringa powder help to increase hair thickness and shininess. It also helps to form Keratin in the hair as well as boost the cells needed to create protein for healthy amounts of keratin in your hair. I always use Aloe Vera juice to mix the henna and then add a drizzle of honey but I like the idea of using green tea😃.

Hey hon, if you want to enhance the effect of your henna, add something acidic to it (bottled lemon juice works) and let it sit out at room temp over night or in 90F warm place for 2 hours. The dye releases and it will stain your hair a deeper color but this is to help get everything cooking.

I feel that my last henna application changed my hair porosity. The first time I used henna I had a great experience with the strength, thickness and darkness of my hair. However, my last application (about 2 years ago) I added black tea rather than water as recommended by some youtubers. Ever since, my hair low porosity and extremely dry so I regret using the tea. BTW...your hair has grown alot!!!
@MichelleIjeoma4 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that, but also thanks for sharing. I have always used tea (green or black) in my henna treatments, and my hair loves it. Your experience is a testament to the fact that everyone’s hair responds differently to different treatments. Have you tried the Sheamoisture Manuka Honey Deep conditioner? It really helps with keeping my hair super hydrated. And, thank you so much! I’m really working on getting to waist length by the end of the end or the first quarter of next year. I think you can try and incorporate henna via infusion oil.

I used to use it monthly, but now that I’m long term protective styling I use it between styling wash days. So, every 2-3 months. I find that this is best for my hair because I don’t want to loosen my curl pattern. I hope that helps and good luck using henna!

How often did you do the treatment because I hear low porosity hair doesnt need too much protein. Your hair is gorgeous btw
@MichelleIjeoma9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! Great question. At the time that I filmed this video, I believe I was doing henna treatment once or twice a month. Now, I do henna treatments once or twice every two or three months. It really depends on whether I'm in a long-term protective style. With regards to protein treatment, Henna isn't a protein treatment. It behaves like one - coating your hair strands, creating a protective layer that safeguards your hair from wear and tear damage. I actually use protein treatments in addition to using henna because they aren't the same, and henna shouldn't replace the role of a protein in your hair regimen. I hope this helps!

@tammymerilan37883 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks so much for sharing. When you applied, were you saying that you added it to your while you had the conditioner in it or after you washed the shampoo and conditioner out? Also, in place of green tea, does water work fine for this? I’ve never used green tea in my hair so not sure how it will react. Thank you!
@serenabrown70122 жыл бұрын
Hi, she applied the henna tx after wash and shampoo. She notes she used a clarifying shampoo, rinsed that out then applied the henna, wrapped her hair and allowed it to sit for 6hrs (you can do less), washed the henna out and then used a deep hydrating conditioner. You can definitely use water instead of green tea. I use distilled water or aloe vera juice it works just as well as green tea (minus the benefits of green tea). When using water or green tea I add a teaspoon of aloe vera powder for softness. Good luck, hope this helps! 😊

@MichelleIjeoma3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it gives your hair a reddish orange tint depending on your hair color after the first use. My hair is jet black naturally, but when I use henna my hair looks more reddish brown in the sun/light. That being said, I’ve seen more dramatic results on people with lighter hair. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

What a bummer!?! I can relate because that happened to me when I first started using henna. I learned I had to space out my treatments and use henna glosses depending on my desired outcome. The way I got my hair to bounce back was using amla, stepping up my moisture, steaming my hair and trimming because I didn’t want to cut my hair off. What have you been doing to recover?

@@MichelleIjeoma thanks for replying👑 I trim my ends I have been using clarifying shampoo and using a moisturizing Conditioner. I always used amla oil . Besides watching KZbin videos making sure I covered the basics . I'm thinking in 2 weeks or so I might do a aphogee treatment.

If you want the henna to die your hair I would recommend not adding so much oils or any other products, just the henna itself, because the oils reduce the effects of the dye.

@MichelleIjeoma3 жыл бұрын
Cassia is a great alternative to henna. They have similar properties and benefits but it won't dye your hair. if you have dark black hair, you can look into indigo. I find that using Amla with henna has helped reduce the color change for me, but I think it varies from person to person.
